I’m Geekin’ Out!

Remember back in November, when I said I was donating a couple bags of books for the Child’s Play Charity Auction?  Check out what the hubby found! Giant Fire Breathing Robot caught a picture of them at the auction and there they are.  And there’s even bids on them.  If you look close at the clipboard, you can see the list.  I don’t know how much it went for, but people did bid on them.  I am so stoked!

Child's Play Auction

I may not have been able to make it to the Dinner Auction, but I was there in spirit and so were all the fabulous authors who donated books to be included.  I want to thank again everyone who helped make the bags possible: Adrian Phoenix, Angie Fox, Donna Grant, I Smell Sheep, Jennifer Estep, Romance Book Craze, Laura Bickle/Alayna Williams, Leanna Renee Hieber, Marsheila Rockwell, Marta Acosta, Meljean Brooks, Nancy Holder, Nancy Holzner, Savvy Verse & Wit, Sharon Ashwood, Shiloh Walker and Yasmine Galenorn. (I really hope I’m not forgetting anyone, so if I am, I’m really sorry! But thank you thank you thank you.)

2011 Child's Play GiveawayUpdate 10/28/12: As I was preparing the post for this years bag donation, I went looking through the Dinner Auction 2011 – Items & Auction album to see what was donated last year and found this – it’s the LE Bags! There they are, sitting pretty on one of the many tables at the Meydenbauer Center. There were some fabulous items donated last year and I’m still excited to see that Le was included among them. For those curious, I did find out how much the bags went for during the auction. Each were auctioned off separately and one went for $210 and the other for $215. Considering both of those bags were filled with brand new books, some even signed, I’d say that was a pretty good deal.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Awesome. Wish I could have participated–I was way too swamped this year to keep up with all the requests I received. Glad all of these authors pitched in though, they couldn’t have done it for a better cause. :)
