Look Who’s Going to RT: Shona Husk

Shona HuskCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I grew up reading fantasy novels, and discovered romance as an adult. Since then writing paranormal and fantasy romance has been a passion of mine. I love creating new worlds with wounded heroes and dark stories. Some of my tales are sweet others scorching but there’s always a HEA. All of my books are available as ebooks, and the Shadowlands series, featuring my sexy goblins, are also in print. When I’m not writing I’m design roads for the day job. I love dark chocolate, good books and watching Supernatural and Terra Nova and Spartacus.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
The Shadowlands series (published by Sourcebooks) started with The Goblin King and continues in May with Kiss of the Goblin Prince. While there are true goblins in the stories (hideous creatures that live for battle and gold), the heroes are Celtic warriors who were cursed to be goblin by a druid. As a result they were banished to the Shadowlands, the realm of nightmares. Two thousand years later they are running out of time and soul. If the curse doesn’t break they will be damned to be goblin forever. Nightmares come to life, and the heroes have to face them down before getting a chance at love. The heroines are normal women, each with their own problems who are then confronted with this other world and magic.

My other series is published by Ellora’s Cave and features some very sexy vampire rock stars (Kissing Phoenix, Tasting Thanatos and Sharing Sirius).

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This will be my first RT and my first trip to the US as I live in Australia.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I’m on a panel, Build a Hero, with Cindy Spencer Pape, Seleste de Laney, Lisa Hendrix and Marissa Day. This should be lots of fun as everyone has their own idea about what makes the perfect hero. But we’ll see what, or who, we come up with

I’m really looking forward to some of specialty workshops, sex through history and the AFT workshop and demonstration. I’m hoping to make it to some of the genre specific ones too.

Plus this is a chance for me to meet some of my editors in person.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
I’ll be redhead with the Aussie accent who doesn’t know anyone so please say hi!

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
