Look Who’s Going to RT: Jus Accardo

Jus AccardoCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
*waves to everyone* I’m Jus! I write YA paranormal romance and urban fantasy–although it almost didn’t end up that way. I was literally days away from starting at the C.I.A (Culinary Institute of America) when I passed on my spot last minute to pursue writing and have never looked back. I love food, fiction, and the outdoors. I’m also a huge advocate for animal rescue and happily have a houseful of large, lazy dogs to show for it.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
The Denazen series (Touch) centers around seventeen year old adrenalin junkie, Dez Cross, and Kale, a boy with the uncontrollable ability to to kill any living thing he touches. After Kale literally falls at her feet, Dez finds that nothing in her life is as it appeared. Not her family, not her friends, and most of all, not her father…

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This is my first time. I’ll admit that I’m way nervous! On top of being my first RT, it’s also my first conference in general. Start with the big guys, eh? I’m really looking forward to it, though. It’s very exciting!

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I’m not speaking on any panels this time around. Probably best for me to jump in, get my feet wet, and see what it’s all about. Like the Hokey Pokey–only with less Hokey and more Pokey. Or maybe it’s the other way around… I will be signing at the Book Fair and I’ll be at the Teen Day party, and also the Candy and Spoons event on Saturday. As far as what I plan on attending, well, I’d love to hit everything!

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
I’d probably tell them to look for the short girl with reddish hair and wolf paws tattooed on the outside of each wrist.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
