Bloodlines Contest!

Thanks to the wonderful people at Penguin, I have a copy of Bloodlines and an ARC of Golden Lily by Richelle Mead to share with all of you.

Bloodlines #1: Bloodlines

RMead-BloodlinesBlood doesn’t lie…

Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir – the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir – is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill’s guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty – a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning…

Bloodlines #2: Golden Lily

RMead-Golden LilySydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

Sydney would love to go to college, but instead, she’s been sent into hiding at a posh boarding school in Palm Springs, California–tasked with protecting Moroi princess Jill Dragomir from assassins who want to throw the Moroi court into civil war. Formerly in disgrace, Sydney is now praised for her loyalty and obedience, and held up as the model of an exemplary Alchemist.

But the closer she grows to Jill, Eddie, and especially Adrian, the more she finds herself questioning her age–old Alchemist beliefs, her idea of family, and the sense of what it means to truly belong. Her world becomes even more complicated when magical experiments show Sydney may hold the key to prevent becoming Strigoi—the fiercest vampires, the ones who don’t die. But it’s her fear of being just that—special, magical, powerful—that scares her more than anything. Equally daunting is her new romance with Brayden, a cute, brainy guy who seems to be her match in every way. Yet, as perfect as he seems, Sydney finds herself being drawn to someone else—someone forbidden to her.

When a shocking secret threatens to tear the vampire world apart, Sydney’s loyalties are suddenly tested more than ever before. She wonders how she’s supposed to strike a balance between the principles and dogmas she’s been taught, and what her instincts are now telling her.

Should she trust the Alchemists—or her heart?

In the hopes of introducing someone new to the fabulous Vampire Academy/Bloodlines world, I’ll be giving away the copies separate.

Contest Time!

To enter for a chance to win either, all you have to do is answer this one question: Which Vampire Academy/Bloodlines character do you like and why? If you haven’t read the series yet, what is drawing you to it? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered.

Even though I’m not giving the additional entries any more, you can still help support Richelle by sharing this contest, on your blog, Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere you can. After all, the more people who are aware of this fabulous author ensures we get more fabulous stories.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

The contest will stay open until July 13th at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the snazzy new plug-in I have.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. This sounds like a great series. I have read other books by Ms.Mead so I know these will be just as good.

  2. I adore Adrian. I loved him in VA & thought Rose was crazy for choosing Dimitri. I’m so glad that we’re seeing more & more of him in the Bloodlines series. Thanks for the chance to win!

  3. Besides Rose and Dimitri, because everyone loves them, my favorite character from both of the series is Adrian.

  4. Thanks for a great giveaway! I haven’t read any of the VA books, but I love Richelle’s other series and I really want to read all her books :)

  5. Adrian is my favorite Vampire Academy character. I wasn’t crazy about him at first but as the story progressed I really grew to like him :)

  6. Ah, my favorite has always been Rose. Before Katniss and Katsa, there was Rose. Loved her spunk, her tough attitude, her loyalty–she’s a complete package, stubbornness and all. And her scenes with Dmitiri and Adrian–always memorable.

  7. I have yet to read Ms. Mead’s YA series, but I’ve read both of her adult series and like them. A lot. Bloodlines will be the next one to read, I love the covers, and have heard so much good things about the series that I can’t not read it.

  8. Rose. Rose is a strong character, but not overly strong where she doesn’t fall down at times. I’d like to say more, but, really, Laurie T above hit the nail on the head quite succinctly.

  9. Although I will always lust for Dmitiri my favorite character is Rose. A head strong female character not afraid to break rules and think out side the box in order to stay true to her moral values.

  10. I haven’t read this series yet but what appeals to me is the vampires and magic. I like both and the alchemy is an interest element.

  11. I totally appreciate Adrian. He always was the third wheel with Rose but with the new series, I hope Sydney rises to his challenge.

  12. i have to confess, i havent read this series yet!!
i love the idea of the magic users and vampires.. cant wait to try it! fingers crossed i win!

  13. My favorite is definitely Adrian. He’s witty, sexy, and has a good heart beneath all the snark.

  14. I have not read this series and I find myself really wanting to get to know Sydney. I have read Storm Born and really enjoy Richelle Mead’s writing style. I have also read so many good things about this series that I am really looking forward to it – I love me some mystical and adventure :)
