Biting Cold Scavenger Hunt

Chloe NeillI am excited to welcome author Chloe Neill, who is getting ready to release her sixth Chicagoland Vampires novel, Biting Cold. Literary Escapism has the next world in the Biting Cold Scavenger Hunt and we have a pretty sweet contest to go along with it as well.

Turned into a vampire against her will, twenty-eight-year-old Merit found her way into the dark circle of Chicago’s vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye—and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined. And not all the secrets she learned were for sharing—among humans or inhumans.

Now Merit is on the hunt, charging across the stark American Midwest, tailing a rogue supernatural intent on stealing an ancient artifact that could unleash catastrophic evil on the world. But Merit is also the prey. An enemy of Chicagoland is hunting her, and he’ll stop at nothing to get the book for himself. No mercy allowed. No rules apply. No lives spared. The race is on.

Want to know what we thought here at LE? Here are the reviews by Jackie and Nicole. Make sure you stick around to the end. We’ll be giving away a copy of Biting Cold.

Meet Chloe Neill!

Chloe Neill is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Chicagoland Vampires and Dark Elite series.

She was born and raised in the South, but now makes her home in the Midwest–just close enough to Cadogan House and St. Sophia’s to keep an eye on things. When not transcribing Merit’s and Lily’s adventures, she bakes, works, and scours the Internet for good recipes and great graphic design. Chloe also maintains her sanity by spending time with her boys–her favorite landscape photographer/husband and their dogs, Baxter and Scout. (Both she and the photographer understand the dogs are in charge.)

Contest Time!

Thank you Chloe for letting Literary Escapism take part in the Biting Cold scavenger hunt!

Chloe is giving away a copy of Biting Cold and a package of Chicagoland Vampires and Dark Elite swag. To enter, all you have to do is answer this one question: What do you think Mallory’s punishment should be once she’s caught? What are you most anticipating from Biting Cold? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered.

Even though I’m not giving the additional entries any more, you can still help support the author by sharing their article, and this contest, on your blog, Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere you can. After all, the more people who are aware of this fabulous author ensures we get more fabulous stories.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

The contest will stay open until August 15th at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the snazzy new plug-in I have.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Mallory should be put under lock down and treated for her mental issues. I that one day she could go back to the person she was before she found out she had powers. Or close to what the real Mallory was like.
I look forward to reading BITING COLD!! :)

  2. I think Mallory’s powers should be stripped and she needs some major psychiatric intervention. I am most looking forward in Biting Cold to the pregression of Ethan and Merit’s relationship now that he is literally back from the dead.

  3. What do you think Mallory’s punishment should be once she’s caught?
She should be banned from practicing magic. It is an obvious weakness and like an alcoholic, she needs to do the twelve step program!

What are you most anticipating from Biting Cold? Merit confronting Ethan and either getting closure from him and moving on, or finding a man/vampire/whatever that is much more deserving of the new stronger Merit!

  4. IF it wasn’t for Mallory, Ethan wouldn’t have been brought back. I don’t think stripping her of her powers all together would be right. However, I’m excited to see where Chloe has taken Merit & Ethan this time. These two (I believe) are soul mates and nothing can really tear them apart. OF course they get mad at each other, but who hasn’t gotten mad at their significant other at some point.

  5. I think Mallory should have her powers taken away.

I’m most looking forward to seeing what happen between Ethan and Merit

  6. I think Mallory should have her powers temporarily removed until she can get help and be normal again.

  7. Gah! I haven’t read the last book, so I can’t answer the question; I don’t know if I can be entered in the giveaway. And now I know something big obviously happened with Mallory!

  8. What do you think Mallory’s punishment should be once she’s caught? This is a hard one because initially I liked Mal. Maybe she should have her powers put in hold? Or put in some sort of prison where her powers don’t work…

What are you most anticipating from Biting Cold?
I want to know more about Ethan, what does his return mean? Also I really like Jonah, what is going to happen with him?

  9. I think she should be magicly neutered. If a drug addict did what she did (regaurdless of Ethen) they would get life or worse. Harsh punishment for a harsh crime.

  10. i think she should have her powers bound or stripped..
im loooking forward to finding out what happens with ethan and how everybody is affected by the change in leadership

  11. I’m looking forward to ETHAN being back!. I sure did miss him in Drink Deep. I think Mallory should have some sort of ban on her powers -not forever..but as a punishment.Thrown out of the Order. I am also looking forward to how Merit will deal with Jonah and the whole RG agreement!

  12. Shamefully I haven’t read this series yet so I have no clue. It is a series I want to read very soon so hopefully this won’t be held against me!

    Thanks so much!

  13. I don’t know what punishment she deserves as I’m not that far in the series yet, but I do know that I’m looking forward to getting some answers to questions that have been bugging me.

    tiger-chick-1(at)hotmail(dot)com

  14. I can’t answer the question because I haven’t read the books yet but I’m starting them soon and I’m happy for the release so there will be more for me to read…

  15. thanks for a fun post! I haven’t read this series yet (shocking, I know :) ) but a friend has lent me the first couple and I’m preparing to dive in :)

  16. I think Mallory should have a leash kept on her powers. Meaning that she is watched over carefully on all that she does and answerable to what she’s doing. I think she should also have to go public with an apology to everyone for endangering their lifes because she couldnt control herself. That I think would humble her enough to put her on the right track again.
