Coming September 1st: SCHOOL’S IN

Schools InIt’s that time of year again. Summer is starting to wind down and Fall will soon be upon us. For some of us, this is a very important time of year – we get rid of the kids for seven hours a day! If you have kids, you totally get what I’m trying to say.

For the past two years, my oldest has been in pre-school and I’ve come to understand why my own parents always enjoyed this time of year.  However, this year, my oldest will be starting Kindergarten.  This is a milestone in a child’s life. It’s the first of thirteen long years filled with academia, peer pressure and just being young. There’s a lot that can go on during these years and I started thinking about all the things that will soon be happening.

Of course, books are never far from my mind and I started having these thoughts about all the “fun” the different characters in these new releases might, or might not, have had during their own school days. Do they have fond memories from school? Was there a certain crush they regret not acting on? Was there a moment they wish hadn’t happened? Out of these thoughts came what will be known as SCHOOL’S IN.

Beginning September 1st, and going all month long, I’ll be featuring 30 different authors who will be visiting Literary Escapism, giving us a story of one their characters and what they were like during their own school years.  Whether it was their first day of school, attending a school function, a school memory or even attending a school reunion, we’ll get to see a who new side to some of favorite characters. Who will these fabulous story tellers be you ask?

Jus Accardo (Toxic), Nina Berry (Otherkin), Laura Bickle (The Hallowed Ones), Meljean Brook (Riveted), Amanda Carlson (Full Blooded), Karina Cooper (Sacrifice the Wicked), Carolyn Crane (Head Rush), Lauren Dane (Once and Again), Jocelynn Drake (The Asylum Interviews: Trixie), Dianne Duvall (Phantom Shadows), Clay & Susan Griffith (The Kingmakers), Jim C. Hines (Libromancer), Alex Hughes (Clean), Alexandra Ivy (Fear the Darkness), Karen Mahoney (Falling to Ash), Mari Mancusi (Blood Forever), KD McEntire (Reaper), Bec McMaster (Kiss of Steel), EC Myers (Quantum Coin), Katie Porter (Hold Em), Michelle Rowen (Blood Bath & Beyond), Alyssa Sheinmel (The Stone Girl), Anton Strout (Alchemystic), Shana Swendson (Much Ado About Nothing), Michele Vail (Undeadly), Shiloh Walker (Blade Song) and Eileen Wilks (Mortal Ties)

In addition to these fabulous stories (I’ve already seen a few and they are fabulous), here’s just a few of the giveaways that are planned as well. This isn’t a complete list (I’m still getting everything ready, hence the reason for my silence lately), but these are pretty sweet as well, right?

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
