Whatcha Reading?

I am way behind on my google alerts and checking my RSS feed, so there won’t be any news today, so expect a good size post tomorrow.  In the mean time, I have this for you.  Every week, my PNR group has a “whatcha reading?” topic and I decided to run with it here as well.  I’m not saying this will appear every week, but today I want to know what everyone is reading.  I’m always looking for more books to add to my TBR list and I’m sure I’m not the only one. So…whatcha reading?

What books did you read last week and did you enjoy them?

  1. Stray and Rogue by Rachel Vincent – love this series.  I re-read Stray and Rogue since it’s been awhile and I had Pride to read for the first time. Here is my review.
  2. Pride by Rachel Vincent – I loved it! It actually made me cry. I didn’t do that with the first two (at least not that I remember). Great book, here’s my review.
  3. Demon Moon by Meljean Brook – fabulous.  I’m seriously wishing Demon Night would hurry up and get in at my library so I can continue reading this series. Here is my review.

What are you currently reading?
I started Witch Fury by Anya Bast last night and so far it’s good.  Since it’s the last book in the series, I have a feeling what’s going to happen, but it’s not obvious if my thought is right or not.  I’m liking that.

What will you read next?
I plan to read Chloe Neill’s Some Girls Bite next. I’m still debating on which Shiloh Walker novel to pick up next – Chains or Hunting the Hunter.  Although I may read Rachel Caine’s Lord of Misrule next so I can give it back to my friend.

Have you bought/borrowed/acquired any books this week?
Ooohhh the books I’ve picked up from the library. I’ve gotten some great ones this past week. I just finished Demon Moon and I have Demon Bound, both from Meljean Brook and Demon Night should be in any time. I also have Accidentally Dead by Dakota Cassidy (somehow I managed to end up with The Accidental Werewolf and The Accidental Human), so I had to get the second book to read.

Fill in the blank: If you liked (insert book title or series), you will probably like (fill in).
This one is tricky for me.  Let me know if this is an odd pairing, but if you like the Sookie Stackhouse series, you will probably like Wicked Game by Jeri Smith-Ready.  Both novels seem to have a quirky sense to them, but they are still great vampire novels with a little twistedness to them as well.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I’m reading Witch Fire right now. Hmm… if you like BDB, you’ll probably like Larissa Ione’s Demonica series.
