Demon Moon by M. Brook

I just finished the second installment in Meljean Brook’s Guardian series and I have to say that Demon Moon was a fantastic read.

No one would call vampire Colin Ames-Beaumont kind, but they would call him unnaturally beautiful. For two centuries his tainted blood has kept him isolated from other vampires, sustained only by his beauty and vanity—bitter comforts, since a curse has erased his mirror reflection, replacing it with a terrifying glimpse of Chaos.

Savi Murray’s insatiable curiosity had gotten her into trouble before, but she’d always escaped unscathed. Then came Colin. In the midst of Heaven, he gave her a taste of ecstasy—and of Chaos. Deadly creatures from that realm herald the return of an imprisoned nosferatu horde, and Colin and Savi’s bond is their only protection—and their only passion…

One of the things I mentioned in my review of Demon Angel was that it read a little slow, but I have to say that is so not the case with Demon Moon.  In fact, it’s the exact opposite…I think…I could be wrong…but that’s how it felt to me.  There is so much going on and yet it never seems like it; I’m finding it hard to explain.  It never feels like its a 470 page book (which it is) because you get that engrossed into it.  The chemistry that Colin and Savi exhibit throughout the novel is spectacular and while there are moments that are not too surprising, there are others that are the exact opposite.  I know after reading Demon Angel, that Colin and Savi’s story was going to be great and I wasn’t let down.

The plot was perfect, especially for the size of the book.  The pacing of Demon Moon was done well; we were given areas of action, romance, random dialogues and everything blended beautifully together.  I have to say that one of the parts I liked the most was the basis of the plot.  There wasn’t some grand scheme that was hinted at in DA, but instead, it all started with a random encounter.

Overall, I really enjoyed Demon Moon and kind of wish Demon Night would hurry up and get in at my library so I can continue with this series.  For some reason, reviews are just not happening this week, so normally this would have been a little longer, maybe I’ll expand it later, but either way, Demon Moon was a great read.  Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good vampire romance.
