School’s In: Amanda Carlson & Jessica McClain (Contest)

Schools In (200px)It’s that time of year again. Everyone is going back to school and so is Amanda Carlson’s Jessica McCain from Full Blooded.

Born the only female in an all male race, Jessica McClain isn’t just different—she’s feared. After living under the radar for the last twenty-six years, Jessica is thrust unexpectedly into her first change, a full ten years late. She wakes up and finds she’s in the middle of a storm. Now that she’s become the only female full-blooded werewolf in town, the supernatural world is already clamoring to take a bite out of her and her new Pack must rise up and protect her.

Make sure you stick around to the end. We’ll be giving away an ecopy of Full Blooded.

Jessica McClain

ACarlson-Full BloodedIf my heroine, Jessica McClain, would’ve went to school, this would’ve been a typical day—

8:00 am Period 1. Health. Bell rings. She ducks in right as the last beep sounds and takes a nap.

9:00 am Period 2. English. She sits in the back with her best friend Nick and aces all her spelling tests.

10:00am Period 3. Social Studies. She already has a handle on social dynamics. She doesn’t pay to much attention because human behavior is easy compared to werewolves.

11:00 am Period 4. US History. Jessica doodles in her notebook and thinks, “What if these people really knew history?”

LUNCH. She jumps in her jeep with Nick and her twin brother Tyler and they hit the local café. They stay too late. As usual.

2:00 pm. Period 5. Gym. She comes in late from lunch and is very careful to dumb down her abilities. A few of the boys hit on her, commenting on her awesome physique. She ignores them and spikes a volleyball so hard everyone wonders if it was a trick.

3:00 pm. Period 6. Math. She could answer every question, but never raises her hand. She keeps glancing at the clock, hoping the day ends faster today than yesterday. She has a sparring date with Nick and the wolves are changing tonight. That means she’ll be locked in her room for hours. Better get a good book to read on the way home and download more Kings of Leon.

Contest Time!

Thank you Amanda for taking part in Literary Escapism’s School’s in!

Amanda is giving away an ecopy of Full Blooded. To enter, all you have to do is answer this one question: What do you think Jessica’s classmates would think if they knew who and what she was? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered. (US/CA only)

Even though I’m not giving the additional entries any more, you can still help support the author by sharing their article, and this contest, on your blog, Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere you can. After all, the more people who are aware of this fabulous author ensures we get more fabulous stories.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

All School’s In contests will remain open until October 7th at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the snazzy new plug-in I have. Have you checked out the other School’s In contests yet? Check out the Master List to see all the School’s In giveaways

I have not been contacting winners, so you will need to check back to see if you’ve won.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I think they’d be fearful of her and a bit envious. They’d probably gang up on her and be sorry they did after she kicked their asses.

  2. I doubt they’d believed it, but if they did, they would probably be pretty scared of her and would try to get her kicked out of school.

  3. I think a portion of the potential classmates would be fearful of her because people tend to be scared of what they don’t know. The others would probably be envious and try to use her talent to their own advantage.
