The Great Revelation

HBO has finally produced a poster for the True Blood series that is due out in September. It’s actually really pretty and you really can’t read the tagline from here, but it says “Thou shall not crave thy neighbor”. I think it actually works with the novels. What do you guys think?

Speaking of the Southern Vampire series, have you ever wondered about the Great Revelation? That time in history where the vampires came out of their coffins and joined the free world? Well, HBO is putting together a graphic novel called True Blood: The Great Revelation as a prequel to the True Blood series. The comic is going to be available both online and in print (free for those attending the San Diego ComicCon) starting July 24th. The comic book is written by David Wohl (Witchblade, The Darkness) with art by Jason Badower (HEROES online comic), colored by Blond and story by Brian Cain and Gregg Hale (“The Blair Witch”) at Campfire. For a sneak peek at some of the pages, head over to The Top Cow.

This saturday, author Shira Lipkin will be blogging every half hour at her LiveJournal site as an effort to raise money for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Centre. This will be her sixth year participating in the blogathon. Lipkin’s blogs will be in the form of a story where she is a xenoarchaeologist, discovering artifacts which have been donated by artists and up for auction along with a story card. The cause is a good one, so make sure you head over there and check it out.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I didn’t know about the comic…I will have to check that out.

I have seen the first episode of True Blood and I have to say they are hyping it up too much. It was an ok first episode but alot of Sookie fans will be disappointed.
