Thanks to the wonderful people at Penguin, I have a fabulous contest for everyone today. Contest Details

To enter, all you have to do is answer one of these questions: We recently posted a list of 50+ titles that many readers consider to be must-reads of the erotica genre.  Is your favorite listed there? Do you think we’re missing one? If you’re just getting into the genre, what is it that’s keeping your attention? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered. (US/CA)

Even though I’m not giving the additional entries any more, you can still help support the author by sharing their article, and this contest, on your blog, Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere you can. After all, the more people who are aware of this fabulous author ensures we get more fabulous stories.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

The contest will stay open until October 31st at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the snazzy new plug-in I have.

The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty

ARice-Claiming Sleeping BeautyIn the traditional folktale of “Sleeping Beauty,” the spell cast upon the lovely young princess and everyone in her castle can only be broken by the kiss of a Prince. It is an ancient story, one that originally emerged from and still deeply disturbs the mind’s unconscious. In the first book of the trilogy, Anne Rice, writing as A.N. Roquelaure, retells the Beauty story and probes the unspoken implications of this lush, suggestive tale by exploring its undeniable connection to sexual desire. Here the Prince awakens Beauty, not with a kiss, but with sexual initiation. His reward for ending the hundred years of enchantment is Beauty’s complete and total enslavement to him . . . as Anne Rice explores the world of erotic yearning and fantasy in a classic that becomes, with her skillful pen, a compelling experience. Readers of Fifty Shades of Grey will indulge in Rice’s deft storytelling and imaginative eroticism, a sure-to-be classic for years to come.

Beauty’s Punishment

ARice-Beautys PunishmentThis sequel to The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, the first of Anne Rice’s (writing as A.N. Roquelaure) elegantly written volumes of erotica, continues her explicit, teasing exploration of the psychology of human desire. Now Beauty, having indulged in a secret and forbidden infatuation with the rebellious slave Prince Tristan, is sent away from the Satyricon-like world of the Castle. Sold at auction, she will soon experience the tantalizing punishments of “the village,” as her education in love, cruelty, dominance, submission, and tenderness is turned over to the brazenly handsome Captain of the Guard. And once again Rice’s fabulous tale of pleasure and pain dares to explore the most primal and well-hidden desires of the human heart. Preceding the visceral eroticism of E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey and even more haunting than her own novel Belinda, this second installment is not to be missed.

Beauty’s Release

ARice-Beautys ReleaseIn the final volume of Anne Rice’s deliciously tantalizing erotic trilogy, Beauty’s adventures on the dark side of sexuality make her the bound captive of an Eastern Sultan and a prisoner in the exotic confines of the harem. As this voluptuous adult fairy tale moves toward conclusion, all Beauty’s encounters with the myriad variations of sexual fantasy are presented in a sensuous, rich prose that intensifies this exquisite rendition of Love’s secret world, and makes the Beauty series and incomparable study of erotica. In it, Anne Rice, writing as A.N. Roquelaure, makes the forbidden side of passion a doorway into the hidden regions of the psyche and the heart.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Joey w. Hill is amazing!!!! Her writing is erotic and paranormal/ fantasy. Can’t get any better than that!

  2. Thanks for a fabulous giveaway! Alice Gaines is one of my favs :) She writes shorter novella types but they are *hawt*

  3. Thanks for the giveaway! Annabel Joseph needs to be on your list. She writes bdsm erotica that are a bit darker than Fifty Shades. If you haven’t read any of her works yet, start with Comfort Object.

  4. The emotional aspects is what keeps me interested in the stories. I really like the BDB books, especially Lover Awakened.

  5. a few of my favorites were there… JR Ward, the Merry Gentry series and a few others. Plus lots I can’t wait to try!

  6. My attention is usually held by mystery thrillers – like The Absent One or Girl with a Dragon Tattoo

  7. The Sleeping Beauty trilogy were the first books I ever read in this genre. What an eye opener! Since most of my books came from the library, it wasn’t until I got my nook that I started to find so many other fascinating authors & well written books. I couldn’t think of anyone to add to your list, but my favorites are Cherise Sinclair, Kallypso Masters, Joey Hill, Maya Banks, Lorelie James, Emma Holly etc, etc, etc…

  8. First of all I just need to say I’m going to a book fair tonight and this list is going with me ;) so I talk you for that. A lot of my favorites are on here and it’s a great list. One I noted that’s a keeper for me is Karen Marie Moning’s Highlander Series. If those fae and highlander fellas don’t get your blood boiling, I don’t know what will.

  9. Ward, Hamilton, Reisz… all favourites.
What keeps me? I suppose it’s the ‘what if’; the possibilities. You get in an elevator with a gorgeous guy and you can imagine that you have an erotic encounter up against the wall. Or that you can mate with an aggressive alpha werewolf or a dazzling fae male. It’s not real, it’s fantasy and for women, the mind is the biggest sex organ.

  10. I am pretty new and what keeps me is the fantasy. I am in a monogamous relationship with my husband and I have four young children. It’s fun to get swept away into a new world when I read and it actually helps spice up the relationship I have with my husband. Thanks for the incredible giveaway :)

  11. My favorite, Megan Hart, is on there. I’m fairly new to the genre so I don’t know if anyone is missing. I really love Hart’s books because they’re very character-driven. The sensuality is a natural part of the characters so I don’t really feel like it’s gratuitous or not necessary to the story. That’s the kind of thing that I will likely be looking for when I start on a new erotic author.

  12. I just started reading J.R. Ward’s, The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series and am new to this genre. The great characters and exciting writing is keeping my interest. I like realistic characters not whiney:) thanks for the chance to win!
