Hostage to Pleasure

Alpha Heroes has a review up for Nalini Singh’s new Hostage to Pleasure. The novel is the fifth book in the Psy-Changeling series and if you haven’t tried this series yet, then you are really missing out. This series is one of the rare few that I have gone out and bought all at once. I love this series and I was insanely jealous when I found out Nicola ended up with an ARC for it. The novel comes out September 2nd and I will be heading to the store to get it on that day. I kind of want to read Nicola’s review, but at the same time, I don’t want to know what is going to happen. We’ll see if I buckle under the pressure later today.

Just to recap, here’s the blurb for Hostage to Pleasure from Nalini’s website and then you need to go over to Amazon and pre-order your book. Here’s an excerpt from the novel as well.

Separated from her son and forced to create a neural implant that will mean the effective enslavement of her psychically gifted race, Ashaya Aleine is the perfect Psy–cool, calm, emotionless…at least on the surface. Inside, she’s fighting a desperate battle to save her son and escape the vicious cold of the PsyNet. Yet when escape comes, it leads not to safety, but to the lethal danger of a sniper’s embrace.

DarkRiver sniper Dorian Christensen lost his sister to a Psy killer. Though he lacks the changeling ability to shift into animal form, his leopard lives within. And that leopard’s rage at the brutal loss is a clawing darkness that hungers for vengeance. Falling for a Psy has never been on Dorian’s agenda. But charged with protecting Ashaya and her son, he discovers that passion has a way of changing the rules…

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Aww, Jackie, you’re a sweetheart. Thanks for the link!

Just so you know, there aren’t any spoilers for HtP in my review, although if you haven’t read ANY of the series, there is a spoiler for the first book (Slave to Sensation).
