I saw this and had to put it at the top of the post. There is some new cover art and it’s really shiny. The cover for Swallowing Darkness by LK Hamilton has been posted! The seventh novel in the Meredith Gentry series, Swallowing Darkness will be out November 4th. There isn’t an excerpt up yet, but according to her website, it’s going to be up soon. You know I’ll be keeping an lookout for it.

Random House has started a new weblog. It’s called Suvudu and it’s a “multi-contributor blog with the mission of providing information and content to fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy books, movies, and games.”

Kat Richardson is talking to Jeri Smith-Ready today about her Greywalker series.

Has anyone heard of the Vampire Manifesto? It’s a first edition anthology edited by A.D. Dawson and includes some newer talent: Mike Philbin & Alex Severin, Dominic McDonagh, Amanda Lawrence Auverigne, Lawrence R. Dagstine, Gary J. Beharry, David Byron, Chris Meekings, Kristine Ong Muslim, and two-three book/movie reviews by Brian Rosenberger and Mike Philbin. The novel is completely free for download via Lulu.

Here’s an interesting article from the Associated Content – Vampires Among Us: Actual and Imagined Vampirism in Contemporary Society. The author, Tara Meacham, dissects the various instances where someone might come across a modern vampire and looks at the various tales that surround it. It’s actually quite an interesting read.

Did anybody see the news that Unviersal has bought the rights to Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series?

The movie, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead, is still in production, with no release date in site, but there are a few cast interviews available on the film’s myspace site.

If you’re looking for a few free online reads, make sure you check out Urban Fantasy today. She’s has quite a few up there. If you’re a fan of Dr. Who, then you’ll definitely want to check this out since UF found where the BBC is offering rare Doctor Who novels for free with all new artwork and notes by the original authors. I know this is something my husband will like.
