I’ll have the July edition of the Escapist Newsletter up today, but until then, here’s the winners for the May’s newsletter, Prey and Salt and Silver contests.
The for the Prey contest, I asked what kind of a pet most of you want. I ended up with a lot of the normal choices, but I have to say, I was impressed with some of the responses I did get. Here’s a couple that I received:
- Jennifer K. wanted a Tame Displacer Beast. I’m a DnD wife, so I totally got that and I have to say, that would be kind of cool to have.
- Dawn M. wanted a Fire Lizard/Dragonet from Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonrider’s of Pern novels. I haven’t read those novels yet, but the animal sounds fun.
- Maya M. wanted a the snow leopard who tagged along with Lord Asriel in The Golden Compass or Professor Dumbledore’s phoenix.
Amazing. Prey is my biggest contest to date with over 80 entries. Now on to the winner. Congratulations…NICOLE, who wanted a talking cat!! Congratulations Cheryl. If I haven’t already emailed you, then email me. I have your copy of Prey sitting on my desk and it can be out today. :)
For Anna Katherine’s Salt and Silver contest, I’ll be honest, I thought I already announced this. However, I can’t find any record of it, so here’s a the winner. And here I thought I was all caught up. Congratulations…BRIDGET3420!
For the May Edition of the Escapist Newsletter, I was looking for some input on my monthly newsletters. At the end of the month, I found out that a lot more people read them than I thought. So I’ve added a few new author sites to my roundup and I’ve tweaked it a little. I’m sure I’ll continue tweaking it, so keep the suggestions coming. However, the contest was for a $15 gift card to Amazon and the lucky person to get it is…KARA!

And to make it up to everyone for being so scatterbrained lately, I’m planning a contest that will be announced soon. At the moment, its going to include a copy of Gena Showalters new novel, Seduce the Darkness, but I think I’m going to entice everyone more by adding something else. How could I forget about fire lizards?! Anne McCaffery’s Dragonriders books were some of the earliest fantasy books I read. I have a hardcover of The White Dragon from when it first came out. The hardcover then cost less than a trade pb today!

You’re a D&D wife? I am, too. Last night he went to play (his weekly game) and I watched Becoming Jane for the Everything Austen Challenge.
I’m more of a DnD girlfriend since my husband really hasn’t played since we got married. Not because we got married, but a year after we, we moved away from his group and he hasn’t been able to get it jump started again. I keep telling him he should, but now he’s working on his own novel and it’s about on of her DnD characters, the most amusing one. So I guess I am still a DnD wife. Maybe I’ll see if he won’t post a snippet of it soon. Ziggy is truly a unique individual.
