It’s almost here! The next Night Prince novel by Jeaniene Frost, Twice Tempted, releases on March 26th and thanks to the wonderful people at HarperCollins, I have a copy to giveaway today.
Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges . . .
Leila’s psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn’t sure what the future holds. If that weren’t enough, her lover Vlad has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she’s also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won’t admit that he loves her . . .
Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity . . .
Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity . .

Night Prince series
After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person’s darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude…until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world’s most infamous vampire…
Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all–but whatever you do, don’t call him Dracula. Vlad’s ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him – a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.
If you haven’t yet, make sure you check out the Night Huntress series, where we first get introduced to Vlad. The first novel is Halfway to the Grave, although I believe Vlad shows up in book two, One Foot in the Grave, but don’t quote me on that.
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother’s life. Then she’s captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.
In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She’s amazed she doesn’t end up as his dinner—are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn’t have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.
She loses her powers.
I think the tragedy is going to be the death of one of the carnies that she used to think of as family. (Which is not, from reading the blurb, what actually _sends_ her back to the carnival, but instead happens after she is already there as it says: ” back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. ” which implies the tragedy striking is after she’s back.)
Maybe Vlad’s enemies will try to kill her in order to hurt him. And the bad guys destroy her carnival in the process.
I think she goes back to the carnival to get away from Vlad
I agree with Erin – my first thought was that she goes back to help out her friend the acrobat and something goes really wrong while there.
I think some will die, someone close to her, or Vlad is an idiot and drives her off.
I think the tragedy is a death too, I initially thought of Marty because that would be such a tragedy for Leila (and me, he’s a good character:-)) but I kind of hope I’m wrong….
Grrr… I really need to catch up on this series! LOL… I have absolutely no idea… everyone else has pretty much already mentioned what I think… Vlad’s distance drives her to an ultimatum that she has to see through and causes her to leave. When she gets back someone close to her gets killed… ?
OH! I just checked and Once Burned is on sale for Kindle for only $1.99! Now I can catch up!!
I agree, someone she is close to in the carnival world probably dies. I hope it’s not Marty! He’s such a cool character.
I think she and Vlad have a major fight and she finds out something happened to one of her friends there so goes back.
I think she gos back to get away from the cold shoulder and something happens to one of her friends.

I think something happens to one of her close friends from the carnival which causes her to return.
Hmmmm… I might have to go re-read Once Burned b/c I’m forgetting how it started. I think she was hanging out with her carnie friends, right??? UGH! It’s been too long.
Maybe b/c Leila’s powers are going wonky she accidentally hurts someone at Vlad’s castle?? Leila runs back to her “family” at the carnival. I kind of agree with Erin that I thought someone got hurt at the carnival and that’s why she goes there but I didn’t want to copy her answer exactly ;) But I know she wouldn’t stand for silly Vlad’s see-sawing much longer!!! Make up your mind Vlad!! Your wifey is dead!! :)
Thanks for the giveaway, girlie!! *waves*
She suspects that Vlad has been either unfaithful or has fallen out of love for her which makes her go back to the carnival to get away from him.
I think that Leila was driven back to the carnival due to a tragic fire that “accidentally” started in her trailer!?! Hmmmmmm…. Indeed??? Did i win????
I agree with Erin. There will be a death of a family member of one of the carnies. It will be a very sad death.

I think it’s a death too. She finds out someone is going to die and can’t say anything and goes back or maybe to make Vlad see he does love her and come after her. It’s been a while since I’ve read book 1:(
She broke up with Vlad!!!! Please pick me!!!
someone close to her dies or she is running away from Vlad because he did something stupid
Maybe one of her carnival friends is murdered.
I think she is going to return to the Carnival circuit because of frustration over her powers combined with a fight with Vlad. While there one of her friends is murdered.
