Orbit is looking for some help designing the most ridiculously bad high-concept SFF book cover in the universe.  This sounds like it could be a lot of fun and I know I’m going to be keeping my eye on it.

Finally.  There’s more info for Kelley Armstrong’s Tales of the Otherworld collection (Thanks SciFiGuy!).  We saw the cover before, but now we know it’s going to be out sometime April 2010 and there is some blurbage.  The anthology is going to contain, the once free online novellas, Birthright, Beginnings, Ghosts, Expectations, Wedding Bell Hell, and The Case of El Chupacabra, plus a new story that focuses on Eve.

SciFiGuy has his Weekend Report up again and seriously, you should be checking it out.  He keeps his eye on a lot of authors I don’t, after all, there’s just way to many for one person to keep track of.  BUT, if you’re one who likes to keep up to date, between the two of us, you could go on informatoin overload.  :)

I saw this meme over at Fangs Fur & Fey, which was posted by the wonderous Jeaneine Frost, and since it’s a slow news day, I thought I would share.  It’s the First Line Meme.  Over at FFF, the authors are doing their own works, but since I am so not a writer, I’m going to pick a few of the books sitting next to me and give you their first lines.  Let me know if any of these catch your interest.

  1. My favourite is, “Your blood looks funny” – The Sinful Life of Lucy Burns by Elizabeth Leiknes.

    It grabs you, who’s blood? Where’s it come from? First lines aren’t of a huge impoartance to me, but based on them alone, I would pick the blood one.
