Look Who’s Going to RT: Hanna Martine

Hanna Martine

Hanna MartineCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
Sure! I am not an introvert … how’s that? I’m a former communications/marketing manager who once spent a day at the Playboy headquarters (though not for pictorial reasons). I got married in a haunted Scottish castle. I have a pool and hot tub at my house but I hate swimming.

I’m a relatively new author (my first two books came out in 2012).

I can be found at: website | Blog | Facebook | Twitter | Tumbler | Goodreads |  Pinterest

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
I write two very different romance series for Berkley Sensation: The Elementals (paranormal), and The Highland Games (contemporary).

The Elementals (LIQUID LIES, A TASTE OF ICE, UNBOUND, and the forthcoming DROWNING IN FIRE) follows the races who secretly command the classic elements (earth, air, fire, water) in our modern world. They are sexy, serious books that each chronicle a different couple navigating the changes and challenges of their existence among humans.

The Highland Games (LONG SHOT, Oct ’13) novels are centered around the New England circuit of Scottish Highland Games. They feature smart, determined women; witty, dreamy men in kilts; and a contemporary sensibility set against the backdrop of country folk festivals.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
Last year I attended RT as a soon-to-be-published author … and also as a wide-eyed newbie. My sole piece of advice would be: Do not be afraid to approach anyone and introduce yourself. So many attendees are either there for the first time, there alone or know only a few people, and will probably be ecstatic to meet like-minded book fans. Because that’s what we all are when it comes down to it: lovers of books.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I’m not speaking on any panels but I will be appearing at Club RT, and I’ll have a fabulous basket up for raffle there. I’ll have some goodies available in Promo Alley, too.

I always look forward to author chats, and I’m sure I’ll be attending a lot of business and craft panels. The ones I went to last year were well worth it.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
Follow me–and the hashtag #RT13–on Twitter! Last year I offered to buy drinks for people at random times during the convention, and I ended up meeting some amazing people. The next one could be you! See my pic here–I’ll be walking around.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
