Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I write an urban fantasy series and paranormal romance with a lot of humor and action. My Sentinels of New Orleans urban fantasy series (Royal Street), published through Tor Books, is set in immediate post-Katrina New Orleans and features wizards, Loup-Garou, Cajun mermen…and one particularly sexy French pirate. Writing as Susannah Sandlin, I write the Penton Legacy series (Redemption) for Montlake, featuring vampire warriors and the women who make them want to live forever.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
The Sentinels series (Royal Street) features a post-Katrina New Orleans whose metaphysical levees shattered during the hurricane, allowing all kinds of preternatural creatures to come flooding into the city. It falls to young wizard sentinel DJ Jaco (think paranormal border guard) to wrangle the misbehaving paranormals into shape as things slowly fall into chaos and the “”pretes”” begin to form secret alliances.
In the Penton Legacy series (Redemption), the vampires are on the brink of starvation and civil war after a human pandemic vaccine turns the blood of vaccinated humans lethal to them. The books follow a small family of vampires (think Irish and Scottish warriors) and their bonded humans as they come under attack by the brutal vampire tribunal.
Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This will be my first RT!
Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I’ll be doing a “”Montlake Author Scavenger Hunt”” at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday–there are a dozen of us giving away books and a Kindle Fire.
On Friday at 9 a.m., I’ll be moderating a craft panel, “”From Forks to Bon Temps: Why Setting as Character Works,”” along with Leanna Renee Hieber, Lisa Kessler, Laurie London, and CJ Ellisson.
And of course I’ll be hanging around Club RT!
If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
The clueless-looking woman with geeky glasses.
