Night Inked

Don’t forget. The contest for a copy of Elizabeth Leiknes’ The Sinful Life of Lucy Burns ends Tuesday night at midnight.  Have you entered yet?

I have been dying for more information on the Inked anthology and check out the breathtaking cover it has!  SciFiGuy has more information on it, but I know I can’t wait for January 5, 2010 to come around because I will be at the bookstore when this comes out.

Jeri Smith-Ready announced the title to her third WVMP novel.  Bring on the Night doesn’t have a set release date yet, but Jeri is guessing that it will be sometime between July & September 2010 since the first book in her new YA series, Shade, comes out in May.

Nalini Singh announced who the seventh Psy-Changeling novel is going to be about.  Remember the cop, Max, from Clay and Tally’s story?  Well, we’ll be getting more of him in book seven and we are told that we haven not met his heroine yet.

Interviews:

I want to thank Twisted Fairytale for the Kreativ Blogger award!  She’s a new reader of the site and I have to say, I love finding out that people really like me.  :P

Ann Aquirre has a new merc page going with Zazzle.  She has been desiging a bunch of things and now you can purchase all of them with the proceeds going to First Book.  Kind of cool if you ask me.  If you’re a fan, make sure you check it out.

If you’re going to be in the Washington DC area this week, there is going to be a massive author signing at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Exhibit Hall on Wednesday, July 15, from 5:30-7:30p.  The “Readers for Life” Literacy Autographing is a great charity event that raises money for ProLiteracy Worldwide.   There is not an admittance charge to the event, but they do ask that you purchase all books to be signed there, since the proceeds do benefit a great cause.  Seriously, if you’re in the area, you should go.  This is one of those times where I wished I was still living in the Metro DC area.  Click here for a complete list of all the authors who will be participating.

The 2009 Sunburst Award nominees were announced and there’s a couple of familiar faces on the list.  However, there are more unfamiliar ones (to me), so my TBR list was added to.

Suburban Vampire has a great compilation of upcoming vampire literary adaptions.  So if you’re looking for new vampire flicks, head on over.

Phaedra Weldon has announced the title of her fourth Zoë Martinique, which will be Revenant.  There’s no word on when it’ll be released, but having a title can be half the battle sometimes.

And a little office news, I’m getting ready to update the New Releases page as well as my TBR.  If you know of any novels that should be on the New Releases page, let me know.  I’m always looking to add upcoming books to it.

CONTEST ALERTS
Fantastic Book Reviews is giving away a copy of Lisa Mantchev’s Eyes Like Stars.  The contest is open until July 24th and there are quite a few ways to get your name in the hat, so make sure you head over.

Fresh Fiction is giving away a complete set of Joey W. Hill’s Vampire Queen series.  You have the chance to get your hands on all four novels in this series, which includes Beloved Vampire which releases August 4th.  They don’t say when the contest will close, so you might want to get over there while you can.

Lady Vampire’s Lair has an impressive list of online giveaways going on right now.  For chances at more free books, head on over and check out her list.

SciFiGuy also mentions quite a few online giveaways in his Weekend Report.  Make sure you hop on over, or don’t since I plan on entering a few of those contests myself.  :)

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
