Spells & Kisses

Holy cow, is this not the most amazing cover ever! Seriously Nalini Singh must have bribed the right gods or something because the cover for Archangels’ Kiss is simply phenomenal. Nalini Singh posted it last night and I am not the only one who is going nuts over it.  This is the second Guild Hunters novel and we have to wait until February 2010 before we can get our hands on it.

Also, SciFiGuy found the cover for the upcoming Tempted by PC & Kristen Cast, which is due out October 27, 2009. SciFiGuy has the blurb and whatnot.

Today is another massive release day, so let’s see why you should be heading to the bookstore (I know I’ve already been there).

I didn’t get to ComicCon in San Diego (but the hubby recently suggested we go), but io9 has the rundown on the top 10 movies that were heard of the most.  I’m not familiar with all the movies they discussed, but I’m going to learn more about the upcoming V.  It has Firefly‘s Morena Baccarin and Alan Tudyk as past of the cast and that’s just beyond awesome.

Congratulations to Sharon Tancredi for having her cover work (Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler) included in the prestigious Communication Arts Illustration Annual.  Tancredi is also working on Nicole’s follow-up novel, Tracking the Tempest, and I hear it’s just as fabulous.

Interviews:

Exciting news for Kim Harrison fans.  The Hollows are going graphic!  Not only are the Hollows going graphic, but the stories will be told from Ivy’s point of view and Kisten will be in them!!  That right there makes it even better news.  I so miss Kisten.  Harrison is working on the script right now with Del Ray, so while there isn’t a release date, I’m expecting it to be out by next summer.  At least I hope it is.

Check out the anthology I came across. Spells of the City is a new collection of stories special magic that lurks in the heart of big cities.  Anton Strout is contributing a story and this is what he had to say:

My story in it is a contemporary fantasy story called “Stannis”, a weepy little tale about a young girl in the city and the centuries old gargoyle sworn to watch over her family.

Spells of the City is edited by Jean Rabe & Martin Greenberg and will be released January 2010.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I am very confused. The third book in the Georgina Kincaid series is called Succubus Dreams and was released a long time ago (last fall, I think). What is this book? When i clicked the link I just got an error code, and as the Georgina Kincaid Series is one of my absolute favourites I really want to know if I have missed something.

  2. I’m going to be broke! Yikes. :) Actually, I already picked up and read The Fire King on Saturday. FYI, Patti O’Shea’s Edge of Dawn (Light Warriors, Book 3) releases today, too – that’s another great paranormal series!

  3. Yeah, that Kincaid has been bothering me too. I need to go back and check to see why it was added. I’m having issues with the idea that an author would release two different books on the same day.
