Gena Showalter Contest

And last, but by no means least, Casey recently had the chance to interview the fabulous Gena Showalter, where they talked about her Alien Huntress, Otherworld Assassin, and really all of Showalter’s series. While she was here, we gave away one ebook from Gena Showalter’s back list, winner’s choice. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: Who is your favorite Showalter couple? If you’re new to Showalter’s works, which series would you want to start with? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

HEATHER W who said: Devyn and Bride from Seduce the Darkness in the Alien Huntress series. This series is my favorite of Gena’s series, but I got hooked to Gena’s work through the Lords of the Underworld and Atlantis series. I haven’t had the chance to read the White Rabbit Chronicles yet, but it is definitely on my to-be-read list.

Congratulations Heather W!

Coldness of Marek Contest

I had the fabulous Rachel O’Laughlin on Literary Escapism discussing the scariest thing ever. While she was here, we gave away a signed copy (US/Canada only) and two ebooks (International) of Coldness of Marek. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever let go of? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

ROLaughlin-Coldness of Mareksigned copy: SHANNON who said: Scariest thing I ever let go of was “The Wall” I had erected following a heart wrenching break up when I was younger. The breakup left me a shell of what I was. It took me a long time to let someone else in… but I’m really glad I did. Scary. But oh so worth it!

ebook: WHITNEY who said: The scariest thing I’ve ever let go of was my fear of failure. I was so scared that I would fail, that I used to not let myself try anything I was interested in. While it seems like it would be a good thing to let go, and it was, it was easier to live my life not ever having to take a risk. It took me a long time, and a lot of trial and error, but I am much happier having done so.

ebook: SANDY265 who said: I’d have to say moving away from home. You don’t have your parents there for support all the time anymore.

Congratulations Shannon, Whitney, and Sandy265!

Along Came a Spider Contest

I had the wonderful Kate SeRine on Literary Escapism who shared an excerpt of her new novel, Along Came a Spider. While she was here, we gave away 5 ebooks of Along Came a Spider. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: What do you think happened last night between Nicky and Trish or are you believing Trish when she says nothing happened? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

KSeRine-Along Came A SpiderDENISE Z who said: Ha! I am really going to like Trish and Nicky ;) I think they were both do doggone tired they crashed after a moment of shared vulnerability and underneath they both want more. Definitely believe Trish. Thank you for the fun snippet, I got emotionally involved right from the start – that is a biggy for me.

JEN M who said: Poor Trish, I don’t think anything happens as she seems way too disappointed. Hopefully, though, something will happen soon. Nicky is adorable. Great excerpt.

STEPHANIE F who said: After seeing how frustrated Trish was I believe her. She seemed really irritated that he didnt try anything. And very annoyed that he thought she was just cute lol.

DONNA S who said: I believe Trish (poor girl), she was totally disappointed. Love this series, development of the characters is awesome.

ERINF1 who said: what a fun excerpt! I loved Red… I can’t believe that I’ve fallen behind on this series! I believe Trish that nothing happened… she doesn’t seem like she could fib very well :)

Congratulations Denise Z, Stephanie F., JenM, Donna S, and ErinF!

Midnight Frost Contest

I had the simply amazing Jennifer Estep on Literary Escapism who shared an excerpt from her latest Mythos Academy book, Midnight Frost. While she was here, we gave away 5 copies of Midnight Frost. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: An app to locate Gwen Frost? Would you download it so you could know where she is – why or why not? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

JEstep-Midnight FrostLIZA (Book Crook Liza) who said: oh, I love this series! And no, I would not download that app, because it’s CREEPY! :) I wouldn’t want someone to be able to do that to me!

CHERYL who said: I have a dumb phone, so I wouldn’t be able to download anything, but, if I could, I would download it. Trouble seems to follow Gwen, so I might want to make sure I’m heading in the opposite direction.

ARINA C who said: I would love to have the app! True, it is an invasion of privacy and stalker-like, but Gwen is destined to save us all from Loki so why not.

KATHY L who said: No I would not like an App to locate Gwen Frost because it seems weird to have an aspect of a book in an App and I don’t like to clutter my phone.

LINDA T who said: No, I wouldn’t download the app. I try to keep my phone really simple. But… it sounds like a cute app!

Congratulations Liza, Cheryl, Arina C, Kathy L, and Linda T!

Covet by JR Ward

Thanks to the wonderful people at Penguin, I have 5 copies of Covet, the first Fallen Angels novel, by JR Ward to give away. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: Who is your favorite Showalter couple? If you’re new to Showalter’s works, which series would you want to start with? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

JRWard-CovetLINDA H who said: I think greed would be the hardest to save someone from. I believe that once a person gets that way it’s almost impossible to get them to change. They want what they want and can’t understand why they can’t have everything they want.

WREN B who said: I think Pride would be very difficult. Because it is good to be proud of yourself and what you do but there is a fine line. So learning where that fine line is would be the challenge.

MICHELLE K who said: I think Envy would the hardest to save someone from, because that’s such a basic thing for humans, to want what you see someone else has
Although I changed my mind 3 times about which of the 7 deadly sins to pick, so I think they’d all be hard to save someone from!

MARGAY who said: Greed, because it’s like a sickness that gets under the skin and poisons everything it comes in contact with.

CASSIE B who said: Out of the seven deadly sins, I would say that Pride is probably the hardest to save someone from. Pride is directly linked to all of the sins and it is highlighted in Lucifer’s motivations that lead to his fall from Heaven. It’s good to be proud of yourself but often times too much pride leads to some type of downfall/backlash.

Congratulations Linda H, Wren B, Michelle K, Margay, and Cassie B!

In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: What would you expect to find at a Carniepunk Carnival? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

Antho-CarniepunkWHITNEY who said: Piercings, multi-colored hair, vintage motorcycle glasses, a cello. Magicians, pick-pockets and a bearded lady. Maybe a Mermaid or other mythic animals, real or not. And lots of freaky fun.

Congratulations Whitney!

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
