What do you think?

I love my logo, however, my .jpg file doesn’t really allow me to do anything with it.  So my very supportive husband spent all day yesterday doing up a whole new one, based on the original concept, and making a .jpg large enough that I can now do other things with it.

So what do you think?  It’s not exactly like the old one, but with all the paranormal sites out there, either magic or vampires seemed a pretty prevalent theme, so I wanted to go more of the animalistic angle.  Plus, I love earth tones so this totally gave me an outlet to include that in the site as well.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. You might guess that I’m a big fan of kitty-eye-esque logos. :) The one thing I’ll miss about the old logo is the amount of texture detail it had.

    • It does lack the obvious texture feel, but the claws now have scales. It’s not really noticeable in this size, but in the bigger size, you can see it a little better. We were going to go with green dragon claws, but then it was just too much green. I wanted a more shapeshifter feel since a lot of sites go more towards vampire or magic.

The eye doesn’t have the marble feel, but I’m liking the colors. It’ll look good on the shirts, bags and bookmarks I want to get done (The shirt and bags for the obvious signage at author appearances I go to :P)

I’m actually thinking about doing a design overhaul on the site, but if I do that, I want something professionally done and I’m not sure if I can do that yet.

  2. I love it! I like how you’ve gone for the animalistic approach too; it’s different, yet still makes a lot of sense and fits in really well.

And thanks to your husband too, he did a great job!
