Black Friday v3.0 Is Back Nov 29th!

BlackFriday.2013It’s coming. The madness, the riots, the sheer insanity that is the holiday shopping season. Considering all this, I started thinking about all the “fun” the different characters, from some of the novels being released during this time, might have while doing their own holiday shopping, especially during the day that is known as Black Friday. From that thought spawn the fantastical BLACK FRIDAY event.

Beginning November 29th, when BLACK FRIDAY ensues, and running through Christmas Eve, the last day to do any shopping, I’ll be featuring 26 different authors who will be visiting Literary Escapism, giving us stories of one their characters and what they are doing during this shopping extravaganza season.  Who will these fabulous story tellers be you ask?

Cassie Alexander (Deadshifted), Kelley Armstrong (Wild Justice), RJ Blain (Storm Without End), Dakota Cassidy (Something About Harry), Nancy Collins (Magic and Loss), Nina Croft (Bittersweet Magic), Carol Goodman (Blythewood), Felicity Heaton (Kissed by a Dark Prince), Mark Henry (Parts & Wreck), Leanna Renee Heiber (The Double Life of Incorporate Things), Larissa Ione (Reaver), Elle Jasper (Darklove), Lisa Kessler (Beg Me to Slay You),  Jessica Lee (Undying Embrace), Heather Lire (A Holiday Christmas), Kelly Meding (Chimera), Devon Monk (Hell Bent), Joseph Nassise (Watcher of the Dark), Abby Niles (The Awakening: Britton), Ella Quinn (The Secret Life of Miss Anna Marsh), JA Souders (Revelations), Laura Wright (Eternal Sin), and Jamie Wyman (Wild Card)

In addition to these fantastical stories, I have a ton of giveaways planned as well. This isn’t a complete list (I’m still getting everything ready, hence the reason for my silence lately), but these are pretty sweet as well, right?

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I despise Black Friday. Not the event that you’re running, but the shopping event. Aside from the utter insanity that people display over the idea that they might get a good sale, and the extra efforts that all the store employees have to go through that day, I hate the fact that it’s gone beyond American borders. Now Canada has a bunch of Black Friday sales. Which might not seem too odd until you consider that Black Friday is the day after American Thanksgiving, which, erm, Canada doesn’t celebrate.

I am, however, looking forward to the event here. Which is much more positive than rampant commercialism. :)

  2. Your Black Friday event sounds fun can’t wait!

Black Friday shopping however doesn’t. I’m not a fan either of shopping for Black Friday and honestly don’t get it lol. The economy, in my opinion isn’t doing any better from the past couple of years and yet people are still buying stuff like crazy. I already know people lining up before and on Thanksgiving night *sigh*.

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving with your families!
