Guest Author: Natalie J. Damschroder

Natalie DamschroderI am excited to welcome author Natalie J. Damschroder, who is celebrating the release of her third Goddess Rising novel, Sunroper.

Marley Canton is done being a victim. A year and a half has passed since she discovered her ability to nullify power in those who aren’t supposed to have it. She’s now on a quest not only to stop the brats who’ve become addicted to goddess power, but also to find the source of their addiction.

Like Marley, Gage Samargo is tracking down the goddess who went rogue decades ago. Insane with too much power from the sun, she’s selling that energy to Gage’s younger brother and his friends, who are no longer content to come into power naturally. While they work to find a way to neutralize the goddess, Marley discovers that every time she nullifies someone, she takes on some of the goddess’s insanity.

Gage falls for Marley’s sharp wit and intense desire to right wrongs. But once he discovers she’s turning into her enemy, is it too late to back away?

Make sure you stick around to the end. We’ll be giving away a print copy of Under the Moon or Heavy Metal (winner’s choice, US only).

Nick Jarrett vs Sam Remington vs Gage Samargo

It’s the last day of 2013, and the beginning of the end of a very exciting journey. Today is the release day for Sunroper, the book that completes my Goddesses Rising trilogy (Under the Moon, Heavy Metal). It’s been the most fun, challenging, frustrating, and rewarding journey of my writing career.

But what has been the best thing about this journey? Falling in love with the heroes. I mean, yeah, I fall in love with all my heroes. It’s my job, after all! But how the heck is someone supposed to choose between these guys?

Luckily, you don’t have to. You can have all three!

Nick Jarrett, hero of Under the Moon
Nick is a protector, one of the best. He travels all over the country, ensuring the safety of vulnerable goddesses who aren’t near their power sources. He’s a legacy protector—his family has been doing this job for centuries, and he’s the last one to carry on the tradition. It’s a burden he wears proudly, until the woman he loves becomes a true target of the worst enemy the goddesses have ever faced.

Nick’s Pride and Joy: His classic Dodge Charger

The Bane of Nick’s Existence: Sam Remington, the guy who gets to stay when Nick has to leave.

The Love of Nick’s Life: Quinn Caldwell, a powerful goddess who cares less about her own safety than she does about making sure other goddesses are out of harm’s way

Vital Statistics: Tall, strong, short-cropped blond hair, blazing green eyes, and a snarky attitude.

Sam Remington, hero of Heavy Metal
Sam’s the brainy one. The organizer, the manager, the researcher. He’s also the caretaker. He loved Quinn, and has had trouble getting over the fact that she belongs with someone else. The loss set him adrift, without purpose. The last thing he wants is another woman in need…even if she can give him something no other woman can.

Sam’s Destiny: To save all the goddesses in one way or another.

Sam’s Frustration: Not knowing what the hell to do with his life.

The Love of Sam’s Life: Riley Kordek, a brand-new goddess who didn’t even know they existed, struggling to control her abilities while on the run from someone who wants to take them from her.

Vital Statistics: Sam may be brainy, but he’s no nerd. Even taller than Nick, with shoulders broad enough to carry the world, shaggy dark hair, warm brown eyes, and compassion as big as he is.

Gage Samargo, hero of Sunroper
Gage isn’t your typical pretty-boy billionaire. He runs his own business, a company with as strong a philanthropic mission as a profit-driven one. You won’t (usually) find him in a trendy club or partying it up. And nothing will make him go against his family…until that’s the only way to save them.

The Car Duels: Gage drives a late-model crimson Viper that can give Nick’s Charger a run.

Gage’s Secrets: His ancestry, his brother’s defection, his growing feelings for a certain goddess.

The Love of Gage’s Life: Marley Canton is on the opposite side of so many things, but from the moment Gage saw her Easter egg eyes, he began to fall. It’s not long before she becomes more than a means to an end, and the sacrifices he’s willing to make grow bigger and more devastating with each passing day.

Vital Statistics: Gage isn’t all muscley manliness like Nick and Sam. He runs more to a lean, graceful strength, and his money and heritage are obvious in his wavy, collar-length hair and clothes that are literally tailor-made for him. But you can drown in his silvery-blue eyes…

Contest Time!

Thank you Natalie for taking the time to stop by Literary Escapism!

Natalie is giving away a print copy of Under the Moon or Heavy Metal (winner’s choice, US only). To enter, all you have to do is answer this one question: Which of the goddesses’ heroes would be your first pick, if you had to choose only one? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered.

Even though I’m not giving the additional entries any more, you can still help support the author by sharing their article, and this contest, on your blog, Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere you can. After all, the more people who are aware of this fabulous author ensures we get more fabulous stories.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

The contest will stay open until January 15th at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from this snazzy plug-in that I have.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Hi Natalie – Happy New Year and best wishes on your new release. If I were going to choose one of your heroes, I’d have to go for Sam. I love those caretaker heroes. They always give me a warm glow when I read about them.
