Contests & Bookmooch

Recently, I had a chance to review Quondam by Jayel Gibson and found it to be a great novel. If you’re interested in trying for a free copy, go check out Puss Reboots where she’s giving away a copy and it’s pretty easy to enter. The contest runs through Sept. 7th at 11PM PST, so you don’t have too much long to get entered.

Jennifer Estep is also having a contest to celebrate the release of Jinx.

Circlet Press is interviewing Catherine Lundoff who is the editor of the fantasy and horror anthology Haunted Hearths and Sapphic Shades: Lesbian Ghost Stories, plus the author of Night’s Kiss and the 2008 Goldie Award winner Crave: Tales of Lust, Love and Longing.

Rachel over at American Bibliophile just found Bookmooch and she actually reminded me about the site. Generally, when I buy a book, I plan on keeping it so the idea of giving them away really wasn’t something I was willing to explore. Then I found a used book store and started looking for books to use as trades. Well, my mother doesn’t read like she used to and sent me two boxes full of books and I’ve already taken one to the used book store and I have about 30 books as credit that I haven’t gone through yet. However, I still have another box sitting in my living room that I want to get rid of. I’m wondering if Bookmooch would be able to help me with this. The books aren’t new and they are all romance with a few others, would this matter? Would Bookmooch be a good way to go? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Today’s artist spotlight comes from Elfwood and is John Girouard. The featured print is titled The Copper Forest Fairy. A lot of his artwork consists of digitally hand drawn masterpieces with a splash of 3D. The majority of his work starts out as hand drawn sketches that he later transfers to the digital world.

If anyone is a fan of Jeri Smith-Ready’s Aspect of the Crow series, then you will want to get over to her site where she is giving away a couple of ARCs for the final installment in the series. The Reawakened hits stands Nov. 1st. The contest runs through Sept. 10th, but word of caution, if you haven’t read the first two novels, you might not know the answer to get into the contest.

Blood of the Muse is giving away a copy of Night Rising by Chris Marie Green, which is the first novel in her Vampire Babylon series.

The Associated Press has an interview with Stephen Moyer, who plays Bill in HBO’s upcoming series True Blood.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I use Bookmooch for the stuff that doesn’t sell on eBay first. I used to open it up to international posting, but then funds became low, so now I only post within my country.

    Have a lovely day! :-)
