BBAW is coming…

The Book Blogger Appreciation Week is coming up in another week and I thought I would give everyone a heads up about what you can expect at Literary Escapism. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to do, but I’ll definitely be featuring a couple book sites as well as having daily contests during the week. Yes, I said daily contests where I will be giving away one book a day during the entire week. I have five great books that will love to find a new home and four of them even begin some exciting series. Want to know what I’m going to give away. Here are the books:

Forbidden Magic by Cheyenne McCray (Magic #1)

D’Anu witch Silver Ashcroft knows she walks a perilous line by practicing gray magic. But it’s the only way to protect herself from the evil that surrounds her. After the horrors she has witnessed, Silver thinks she is ready for anything…

Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur (Riley Jensen #1)

A rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, Riley Jenson and her twin brother, Rhoan, work for Melbourne’s Directorate of Other Races: an organization created to police the supernatural races and protect humans from their depredations.

While Rhoan is an exulted Guardian, aka assassin, Riley is merely an office worker until her brother goes missing on one of his missions. The timing couldn’t be worse. More werewolf than vampire, Riley is vulnerable to the moon heat, the week-long period before the full moon when her need to mate becomes all consuming.

Luckily, Riley has two willing partners to satisfy her every need. But she will have to control her urges if she s going to find her brother.

Easier said than done as the city pulses with frenzied desire, and Riley is confronted with a very powerful and delectably naked vamp who raises her temperature like never before.

In matters carnal, Riley has found her match. But in matters criminal, she must follow her instincts not only to find her brother, but to stop an unholy harvest. For someone is doing some shifty cloning in an attempt to produce the ultimate warrior by tapping into the genome of non-humans like Rhoan.

Now Riley knows just how dangerous the world is for her kind and just how much it needs her.

Dark Lover by JR Ward (Brotherhood of the Black Dagger #1)

The only purebred vampire left on the planet, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But when one of his most trusted fighters is killed- orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate – Wrath must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead…

Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn’t there before, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of brotherhood and blood frighten her. But his touch ignites a dawning hunger that threatens to consume them both…

Tiger Eye by Marjorie Liu (Dirk & Steele #1)

All Dela wants is a vacation, but when she buys an odd little box from a Beijing market, she finds much more than that — she gets a man: a shape-shifter, a warrior, the last of his kind. Hari has been used and abused for millennia, but upon his release from the riddle box, he sees his new mistress is different. In Dela’s eyes he finds hidden power. If only he dares protect, where before he has savaged; love, where before he has known hate. For Dela, he will dare all.

Dream Makers by Nora Roberts (contains the stories Untamed and Less of a Stranger).

Untamed
Jo Wilder had the heart of a lion and the temper of a wildcat. And when Keane Prescott crossed her path, she bared her claws. Jo was certain her charming new boss imperiled everything she cared for, but she couldn’t deny the attraction between them. Though Keane’s kisses left her breathless, it was his tenderness that threatened to tame her heart.

Less of a Stranger
Confident and colossally arrogant, David Katcherton swept into Megan Miller’s life and awakened feelings that had long been lying dormant. But she wasn’t about to fall for this irresistible stranger who was after her grandfather’s business. As Katch challenged her to fulfill her dreams, he also aroused passions she’d never known before….

All five of these books have been gently used, but they are still in good shape and would love to introduce their series to a new (or returning) reader. Each book will be given away at some point during the Book Blogger Appreciation Week, but I’m not saying when or in what order. The contests will only run for that day. Each book with have a 24 hour window.. If there’s a certain one you want to try for, then you’ll have to keep coming back.

I’ll tell you right now, though, how you’ll be able to enter. There will be a couple of different things you can do to get your name in the hat.

  1. Leave a comment answering the days questions. Yes, I’ll be asking everyone a question and it may be something inquiring minds want to know or it could be a scavenger hunt relating to earlier posts. I’m not really sure yet.
  2. Post about the contest on your blog, social network, or anywhere you can. Digg it, stumble it, share it with the world. You just have to let me know you did it.
  3. Introduce someone new to my site. Get them to leave a comment any where on the site, including the contest, and they’ll get entered as well as giving you one more chance to win.

So that’s it so far. I’m also going to have a couple of interviews during the week. One will be with Karen Chance, author of the Cassandra Palmer series and the upcoming Midnights Daughter. I also have interviews with Jackie Kessler and Jayel Gibson in the works, so hopefully I’ll get them back and they’ll be included during the week as well. Each interview will have another contest with it as well. So there’s a potential of 6-8 books being given away during the week. So you’ll definitely want to keep your eye on us.

For a list of other BBAW participants, check out this handy list that’s still being added to. The official directory won’t be up until Sept 15th, but there are still over 200 blogs to check out until then.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Thanks Jackie!!! Woohoo! I love your blog. You give a well rounded opinion on the books and I’ve gotten some great reads from it.

I’d love to win the Dark Lover. {Hint, hint} I’ve read the entire Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward, but I got started with a loan of the first, Dark Lover, so don’t have it in my collection. Gotta love those Brothers. They make my heart flip.

  2. Full Moon Rising or Forbidden Magic would be tops on my list! There are some really good books mentioned on this list that I need to get my hands on!
