Interview: Jeaniene Frost (Video + Contest)

Jeaniene FrostToday I am incredibly excited to share the live interview I did with Jeaniene Frost last night via Google Hangouts On Air to celebrate the release of her final Night Huntress novel, Up from the Grave.

The Grave Ends Here.

Lately, life has been unnaturally calm for vampires Cat Crawfield and her husband Bones. They should have known better than to relax their guard, because a shocking revelation sends them back into action to stop an all-out war…

A rogue CIA agent is involved in horrifying secret activities that threaten to raise tensions between humans and the undead to dangerous heights. Now Cat and Bones are in a race against time to save their friends from a fate worse than death…because the more secrets they unravel, the deadlier the consequences. And if they fail, their lives–and those of everyone they hold dear– will be hovering on the edge of the grave.

As with all series endings, I’m so going to want more and will probably have a ton of questions. So I hope you’ll join me here at Hangouts On Air on February 10th at 8pm EST, when I talk with Jeaniene Frost live to get some of those answers.

This was LE’s first video interview and I have to say it went well. But don’t take my word for it, take a look at what we talked about. Trust me, you’ll want to. Jeaniene talked about Ian, the third Vlad book, possible stories in the Night Huntress World and quite a few spoilers for Up from the Grave. The spoilers begin at the 36:00 mark, so if you don’t want to hear those, that’s when you’ll want to stop.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I’ll really miss all of the characters. They are a nice ensemble. I’ll miss Cat and Bones the most. Thank you for the really great series!

  2. I will miss the escape from reality I get when I read these books. The snarkiness of Cat, the power of Bones, and just all the little things. It makes me sad, but I do like closure.

  3. What will I miss about the Night Huntress series? Everything. The escapades of Cat and Bones. Their friends either being involved or trying to talk Cat out of doing something. The whole paranormal world Jeaniene Frost has created.

I love this series and do hope that their will be other stories in the future. There are many more who I would like to see get their HEA.

Loved the interview & thank you for the chance to win.

  4. Rereading the series at the moment, and Honestly? I will miss everything about it.
The characters, the awesome adventures, the swoon-worthy moments, all the sass, the foul language. I love it all and will miss it terribly!

  5. The thing i will miss the most is Cat’s character. I love how she thinks, who she acts. She’s so passionate! She made me cry and laught, i fall in love with her character since the first novel! I’m going to miss her so much….
i’m thinking about re-read all the books for the seventh time!

  6. I’m going to miss it all! I love all the characters and the way they interact with each other. They’re a refreshing break from reality =0)

  7. i will miss everything! I’ve looked forward to the next release each time I’ve finished a Cat and Bones book. The world and characters that Jeaniene has created are wonderful and draw you in! I feel like I’m losing good friends.

  8. I will miss waiting and the excitement for the next book ;) It always made the days coming by faster until the release day :)

  9. I will miss all of it – I loved every character !!! I read every book in the series plus the extras in about 3 weeks…. lot of late nights :) great sex scenes !!! lol

  10. I am going to miss Bone’s lovely accent.. being English myself i just loved it when he uttered ‘Hello Kitten’ it always made me melt :) ..And I am really gonna miss Cat and Bones chemistry and banter..I was bereft when i finished Up from The Grave, but i just loved it.. and loved the ending too :)

  11. I will definitely miss Bone’s English, The sarcasm between the character, their colorful language, and just Bones and Cat in general!

  12. Dang, I’m gonna miss EVERY SINGLE THING! ALL The characters, their conncections, the humor, the adventures, but I’m gonna miss Cat & Bones the most. Their loyal, dynamic relationship. I’d ready ANYTHING about them.

  13. I will miss Bones (who has my heart) and Cat. I LOVED these two as a couple over the series. When I read the first book in about 2007 I was hooked I wanted to read more of this series and have stayed with since then. I always recommend Miss Frost books and I think I did so to all the Christine Feehan fans on her site years ago. Jeaniene is an amazing story teller and romance writer.

  14. I will miss the relationship between Bones and Cat the most. His sexiness but absolute devotion to Cat and her love for him. The way she reacts to the green glow in his eyes when he looks at her a certain way. Hmmm. Yum! I’d also liked to have gotten to know Ian more. I’m sure there’s more to his story than him being an asshole and man-whore. He intrigues me although Bones has my heart.

  15. I will miss getting to see new releases coming our way, but characters stay with you so it’s all good. And there’s always the possibility to just delve back into the first book and reread from the beginning.

  16. I will miss Cat kickin buts and taking names and being loved by her man for being just who she is. The world of the Night Huntress world drew me in from the start. I still want more :)
