Hell for Leather by Julie Ann Walker

JAWalker--Hell for Leather

JAWalker--Hell for LeatherComing May 6th, the boys of BKI are back…squee…in Hell for Leather by Julie Ann Walker. I have nothing but love for the BKI series, I mean who doesn’t love some hot men, who are all former military/fed agents masquerading as bad biker boys, but who are really private, special ops workers? And I promise, Hell for Leather doesn’t disappoint; we finally get Delilah and Mac’s story.

UNLIMITED DRIVE
Only a crisis could persuade Delilah Fairchild to abandon her beloved biker bar, let alone ask Black Knights Inc. operator Bryan “Mac” McMillan for help. But her uncle has vanished into thin air, and sexy, surly Mac has the connections to help her find him. What the big, blue-eyed Texan has against her is a mystery… but when the bullets start to fly, Mac becomes her only hope of survival, and her only chance of finding her uncle alive.

UNSTOPPABLE PASSION
Mac knows a thing or two about beautiful women- mainly that they can’t be trusted. Throw in a ticking clock, a deadly homegrown terrorist, and some missing nuclear weapons, and a man just might find himself on the wrong end of the gun. But facing down danger with Delilah is one passion-filled thrill ride…

First, if you haven’t read any of the prior BKI novels, don’t fret, you can enjoy Hell for Leather without having to read in order.  There are mentions of things/events from prior novels (and I have a feeling once you’re done with Hell for Leather, you’ll go back and grab/devour the prior 5) but not so much as to ruin the previous books or to make a new reader feel lost.

Hell for Leather is a contemporary romance and similar to Maya Banks’s KGI series; the men of BKI are all former military/federal agents who are now in the “private” sector and have government and non-government missions.  The pace is decent–Walker does a fantastic job of giving us both Delilah’s and Mac’s backstories mixed in with the action. And we finally learn why Mac has been pushing Delilah away.  Mac really needed a good smack upside his head…and he finally (figuratively anyway) gets it.  Hell for Leather also seems to set up the next BKI guy’s story.

Hell for Leather was a fast, fun read. I had been reading a lot of UF and Hell for Leather was the perfect solution/break from the dark and gritty with a fabulous combination of humor, suspense and romance. And, yes, you will get some super steamy smexy times with Hell for Leather. I definitely recommend you go and pick up Hell for Leather.

I have 2 dogs, both Labrador retriever mixed breeds, who are very rotten and think they run the house. Let's not lie, they totally do, I just can't them know it ha ha! My usual genre is romance or urban fantasy. I love all things having to do with paranormal, with the occasional good contemp/BDSM/erotica thrown in to spice it all up.
