Chloe Neill has posted the Part Three to That Time Merit Was In a Band (aka The Devil You Know). Here are Part 1 and Part 2 in case you missed them. Here’s what Chloe has to say about the story:
I’ll let you read the Magical Words post for the details, but basically in a very, very, very early (Mary Sue) iteration of Merit, she was in a band. Malik and Mallory were her friends, and a certain Mr. Greer was her vampiric enemy. Kind of.
Since I ‘fessed up about her early origins, I thought it would be fun to take a look back. So below, without further ado, is a never-before-seen chunk of that first story, which I’d named The Devil You Know. I think you’ll recognize some names, and at least some bits of the characters.
In case you missed it, I was lucky to get the chance to post Chapter 5 of Marjorie Liu’s latest Hunter’s Kiss novel, Labyrinth of Stars.
Jennifer Melzer has an excerpt from Pip Ballantine & Tee Morris new The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences novel, Dawn’s Early Light, which was released March 25th.

Ilona Andrews has released the cover blurb for their brand new Hidden Legacy series, which will start with Burn to Me, and will be released October 28th.
Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.
Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.
Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.
Dear Author revealed the cover and blurb for the next Guild Hunter novel by Nalini Singh, Archangel’s Shadows, which isn’t due out until November. I have to say, I really like the fact that Penguin used a model that matches the description of Ashwini in the series.
In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot—should not—be walking the streets. This hunt must be undertaken with stealth and without alerting their people. It must be handled by those who can become shadows themselves… Ash is a gifted tracker and a woman cursed with the ability to sense the secrets of anyone she touches. But there’s one man she knows all too well without a single instant of skin contact: Janvier, the dangerously sexy Cajun vampire who has fascinated and infuriated her for years. Now, as they track down a merciless killer, their cat-and-mouse game of flirtation and provocation has turned into a profound one of the heart. And this time, it is Ash’s secret, dark and terrible, that threatens to destroy them both.
Yasmine Galenorn will be releasing a new series, Fly by Night, next year, but before that happens, we’ll be able to take a glimpse at the main characters when the cross-over novella Flight From Hell is released in August. the Fly by Night series is a spin off from her Otherwood/Sisters of the Moon series and features Shimmer, a blue dragon shifter, and Alex Radcliffe, a rough and tumble vampire. Here’s the cover blurb for Flight From Hell:
When Carter, half demon, comes to Menolly and her sisters, asking for their help, they think he’s just had a tiff with Shimmer, his blue dragon girlfriend.
But after talking to Alex Radcliffe, the owner of the Fly By Night Magical Investigations Agency where Shimmer works, they suspect that she has been kidnapped by an old enemy of Alex’s.
Now, Alex joins forces with the D’Artigo sisters in a desperate race to find Shimmer before Julian, a powerful vampire from Alex’s past with a grudge to settle, can use the dragon to wreak havoc on Seattle as revenge.
