The Endsinger & Assassin Study of Pirate’s Alley

MSnyder-Assassin StudyIf you’re a fan of Maria Snyder’s Study series, she has a couple short stories available for free. The latest novella to be added is Assassin Study and features one of my favorite assassins, Valek.

Yelena, the heroine of Maria V. Snyder’s stunning debut novel Poison Study, is on her way to her ancestral homeland of Sitia to be reunited with her family and to learn more about her magical powers. An order of execution hangs over her head should she ever return to Ixia. But her true love, Valek, quickly learns that an assassin has taken it upon himself to make sure Yelena doesn’t reach her destination….

As Ixia’s chief of security, and a highly skilled assassin himself, can Valek track down the killer in time to save Yelena’s life? Cast your vote to determine the outcome!

Jocelynn Drake has posted the first chapter to a story she’s working on that features Stefan from her Dark Days series; and it’s told from a new point of view – Erin Prescott’s.

The final Rachel Morgan/Hollows novel by Kim Harrison has a name – The Witch with No Name – and Chapters One and Two have already been posted. The Witch with No Name will be released September 11th.

Nalini Singh has posted the first chapter to her upcoming Psy-Changeling novel, Shield of Winter. Singh has also uploaded two new side stories as part of her series of exploring what her characters are doing in their everyday lives. Clean and Dirty features Vaugh and Faith and takes place around the same time as Play of PassionWeapons Training features Galen and Jessamy and takes place during Archangel’s Kiss.

Chloe Neill posted a short snippet featuring a very different Morgan Greer than what we know. The scene takes place in the first novel, Some Girls Bite, and did not end up in the story. Chloe has also posted the first chapter to Blood Games, the next installment in the Chicagoland Vampires series, which is due out August 7th.

Yasmine Galenorn has been posting snippets from her final Indigo Court novel, Night’s End, which is due out July 1st. You can read them here and here.

SJohnson-Pirates AlleyThere are always fabulous covers popping up and I simply can’t post them all, so here’s a select few that have caught my eye. To see even more, head over to facebook, where I’ve added a few more that are interesting and eye-catching to the May album for your viewing pleasure.

OMG! Diana Gabaldon is doing a book tour June 11th to July 7th! I’m really stoked. She’ll be in Toronto on June 20th or Traverse City on July 7th; both of which are only 4 hours from me. Even better…Toronto is only a $40 train ride compared to driving 4 hours myself. I am so tempted, but need to check with the hubby first. She’s doing both a US (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York, Dallas, Tempe, Seattle, Portland, and Traverse City) and Canadian (Toronto, London, Barrie, Ottawa, Calgary, and Victoria) tour, so she’s going to be a very busy author. For dates, times and location, here are the details.

It’s a constant work in progress, but the Upcoming Releases page has been updated yet again and I wanted to share a few of the changes that were made. The majority of the updates are new preorder links, so while I’m only listing a few here, make sure you check the list for your favorite author. For those interested, a printable version of the current Upcoming Releases page is still available. As always, if there is a novel missing from my list, then please add it here.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
