Can you introduce us to the world(s) that you have created?
I have two sides in my writing worlds. There are the paranormal romances and contemporary romances. The one thing that is a through-line in my stories is that I LOVE alpha males, and the tough chicks who love them. If you like super hot marines, vampires, witches, shifters, spies… I’ve got you covered.
Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
My best advice is to pace yourself, and if you get overwhelmed, go take a nap. Everything is better after a nap. You will meet some seriously amazing people. If you ever find yourself with a group of strangers ask one of these two questions or both: What do you write? What do you like to read? I’m an author and editor, but I love getting suggestions about favorite books people are reading. There’s such joy in hanging out with people who love books.
Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to or are planning on attending?
I will be on panels. I can’t remember which ones. I will be at RT more as an editor than an author this trip. So I’m hoping to talk to a lot of writers about their amazing books!
Is there anything in particular you’re looking forward to or experiencing while in New Orleans?
Hurricanes (the kind you drink) and beignets at Cafe du Monde. And maybe listening to a little jazz. Oh, and I want to visit a voodoo shop to do some research on a steampunk novel I’m working on.
If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
I’ll be the slightly frazzled chick asking where everything is. I ALWAYS get lost. :)
The 2014 RT Booklovers Convention will be held in New Orleans on May 13th – 18th at the Marriott hotel on Canal Street in the historic French Quarter. For the full list of attending authors, who will be signing at the Giant Book Fair on May 17th, here they are: All Authors, Young Adult Authors, and New Adult Authors.
