Look Who’s Going to RT: Chloe Neill

Chloe Neill

Chloe NeillCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
Hello, everybody! I’m Chloe Neill, author of the Chicagoland Vampires series and Dark Elite novels. You may also know me from Pinterest, where I drool obsessively over designer handbags and heels, and Facebook, where I engage in Diana Gabaldon fangirling. :D

I can be found at: Website | Facebook | Twitter | Google+ | GoodReads | Amazon | Pinterest

Can you introduce us to the world(s) that you have created?
Merit is the star of the Chicagoland Vampires novels–a 28 year old graduate student who’s made a vampire after an attack, and becomes–much to her surprise–an excellent fighter. She’s commended into Chicago’s Cadogan House, and very smitten with its tall, blonde, and gorgeous Master, Ethan Sullivan. Wild Things, the ninth Chicagoland Vampires novel, is currently on shelves. Blood Games (CV10) will be released in August.

I’m also the author of the Dark Elite novels: FirespellHexbound, and Charmfall . They’re also set in Chicago, and feature 16 year-old boarding school student named Lily Parker who discovers that things really do bump in the night.

Finally, I’m so excited about my brand new urban fantasy/paranormal romance series which will be published by Penguin beginning in Summer 2015. Claire Connolly is our brave and true heroine, and the series is set in a reimagined New Orleans.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This will be my third RT, and I’m very, very excited. It’s a fantastic–but exhausting–process.

Some tips: keep water, snacks, hand sanitizer, and a sweater in your bag. (Panel rooms can be chilly). Make sure to take breaks during the day and give yourself a chance to rest. And don’t be afraid to say hello to the authors. That’s why we’re there, and most of us are fangirls, too. :)

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to or are planning on attending?
I’m on several panels, and readers can see my entire schedule here. I’ll be moderating a panel with Jaye Wells, Kevin Hearne, and Diana Rowland on writing fight scenes, which I’m really looking forward to.

Is there anything in particular you’re looking forward to or experiencing while in New Orleans?
Beignets. I can’t stress that enough. Also taking notes and photos for my new book series.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
Curly hair, giant Coach bag, Diet Coke in hand. I’ll have plenty of swag, so feel free to stop me and ask for something!

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
