Look Who’s Going to RT: S.E. Babin

SE BabinCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’d love to! I write light paranormal mysteries and dabble in a little bit of chick lit. My debut release just came out in March. I’m also a hard-core reader and run a large local book club in the Houston area.

I can be found at: Website | Blog | Facebook | Twitter | Google+ | GoodReads | Instagram | Amazon

Can you introduce us to the world(s) that you have created?
My first published book, Out of Practice Aphrodite, is set in Asheville, NC. It’s a lovely town, but the gods and goddesses of mythology have arrived and decided to settle in for awhile. While things look normal on the outside, Aphrodite and the gang are going to be responsible for some serious supernatural shenanigans pretty soon.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
I am a veteran. This will be my third conference. If you are attending, one thing I recommend is comfortable shoes. Seriously. I know everyone says that, but I don’t think people realize just how much walking and standing is involved. And…hopefully I’m allowed to say this…but don’t bet on there being leftover food in any of the events. I’ve been on time to all of them and have never managed to get a bite to eat!

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to or are planning on attending?
Not this year, but I will be signing at the book fair on Saturday. I am SO looking forward to seeing Kevin Hearne. And hoping I don’t faint in fan girl hysteria! Plan on seeing me in the marketing panels and anything paranormal.

Is there anything in particular you’re looking forward to or experiencing while in New Orleans?
I live in Texas, so I’ve been to New Orleans a few times. I always, always, always look forward to the food. If you’ve never been there, you’re in for a treat. It’s almost impossible to eat something bad in that city.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
Look for the tall, awkward gal having trouble walking in her heels. I usually go with a couple of lovely ladies, but this year I’m on my own so I’ll be by myself trying to pretend I’m not alone!

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
