Look Who’s Going to RT: Jami Gray

Jami GrayCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
Sure, I’m Jami Gray, the mind behind the award winning, Urban Fantasy series, the Kyn Kronicles from Black Opal Books (Shadow’s Edge, Shadow’s Soul, Shadow’s Moon) and the paranormal suspense series, The PSY-IV Teams, from Muse It Up Publishing (Hunted By The Past out Summer 2014).

Let’s see, I grew up in a huge family (fifth eldest of 37 kids-no that’s not a typo) on the Arizona-Mexico border. I lay claim to a Star Wars obsessed techno-geek who passed his love of all things Lucas to our two boys. Some days, even our lab (who doubles as a fur rug) gets involved.

Delving into the wild paranormal worlds where romance collides with suspense and Urban Fantasy is queen, manages to salvage my sanity, or what’s left of it.

Can you introduce us to the world(s) that you have created?
My Urban Fantasy Series, The Kyn Kronicles, delves into the shadows of a magical community that exists side-by-side the humans and the intriguing warriors who protect it–from humans and monsters alike. Unfortunately, the thin veil of secrecy is shredding and when it comes down, the world will never be the same again.

The first book in my new Paranormal Romantic Suspense series, Hunted By The Past comes out in Summer 2014 from Muse It Up Publishing. The PSY-IV (think Cypher) Teams series will follow the twists and turns of a unique collection of psychic ex-military operators as they face down an evil that doesn’t just stop on the battlefield.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This is my very first time at RT and I’m so excited, I can barely wait.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to or are planning on attending?
I’m not on any panels, but I will be at the Big Book Signing on Saturday.

However, I’ve got my schedule all planned out, with a just a few minor snags–like three workshops in one time slot. Still trying to figure out how to manage that one.

There are so many great workshops, it was really difficult to pick, but I do plan on stalking..err..saying hello to some of my favorite authors out there. Here’s hoping I don’t just stand there mimicking a deer caught in the headlights.

Is there anything in particular you’re looking forward to or experiencing while in New Orleans?
Besides New Orleans itself? It’s always been on my bucket list to visit, so I get to cross off two items at once. I plan on doing a couple of tours outside of RT and hope to make some new friends and reconnect with others!

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
A short, red-head with glasses. Should be accompanied by tall, dark and much more composed male with a goatee and critique partner with much more adult like composure than me. Both shall be supplying small brown bags for breathing at the Big Book Signing on Saturday.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
