Look Who’s Going to RT: Dee Davis

Dee DavisCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
Hi, I’m Dee Davis, best selling author of twenty two novels and five novellas. I write romantic suspense, time travels, paranormal, and romantic comedy. My first book, Everything In Its Time, was published in 2000. I’m also an avid reader, cook and gardener. I love to travel. And although I spent most of my life in Texas, I currently live in an 1802 farmhouse in Connecticut with my husband and cardigan welsh corgi.

Can you introduce us to the world(s) that you have created?
Well with the exception of one short foray into into romantic comedy, my books all have one thing in common. Suspense. Whether you are dropped into the middle of fifteenth century Scotland, nineteenth century Colorado, the President’s Last Chance task force, or the black ops world of the American Intelligence Command (A-Tac) you’re going to be in for the ride of your life. And there’s a really good chance that your soul mate will be just around the corner. You just have to survive long enough to make it to happily ever after.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
I’ve been to RT several times over the years and always enjoy it. It’s a sensory overload and a non-stop party that revels in romance. Hey, I think I just described New Orleans. Definitely a match made in heaven. My advice? Don’t miss anything. You can sleep when you get home.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to or are planning on attending?
Yes! I’m one of the hosts for the Cajun Queen Riverboat Casino morning mixer. (How’s that for a name?). It’s Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:45. I’ll also be in Club RT on both Thursday and Friday at 10:30 am. And I’m on the Romantic Suspense Gumbo panel on Thursday afternoon at 2:45. And finally I’ve been nominated for a lifetime achievement award (in romantic suspense) so I’ll be at the awards ceremony Friday evening. Here’s a link to me at RT.

Is there anything in particular you’re looking forward to or experiencing while in New Orleans?
I love everything about New Orleans. It’s the kind of place that calls to your soul. So expect to see me shopping at the French Market, relaxing at Jackson Square, and eating, eating eating: beignets, muffulettas, seafood, and Aunt Sally’s pralines, the best in the world (sorry Savannah). Of course if I can sit down after that with a cool beverage and some hot jazz…well then all the better!

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
Easiest way to find me is to look for the tall blonde lady with her glasses in her hair. Always have them perched up there in case I need to read the fine print. I’m not a spring chicken anymore and one look and you’ll know I love good food. And odds are, after all we’ll be in the Big Easy, I’ll be smiling.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
