BBAW Contest #5 – Full Moon Rising by K. Arthur

Today is the last day of the Book Blogger Appreciation Week and I hope everyone had fun with all the various activities that went on. For our final contest here at Literary Escapism, I’m offering up a copy of Keri Arthur’s Full Moon Rising, her first novel in the Riley Jensen series and one of my personal favorites.

A rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, Riley Jenson and her twin brother, Rhoan, work for Melbourne’s Directorate of Other Races: an organization created to police the supernatural races and protect humans from their depredations.

While Rhoan is an exulted Guardian, aka assassin, Riley is merely an office worker until her brother goes missing on one of his missions. The timing couldn’t be worse. More werewolf than vampire, Riley is vulnerable to the moon heat, the week-long period before the full moon when her need to mate becomes all consuming.

Luckily, Riley has two willing partners to satisfy her every need. But she will have to control her urges if she s going to find her brother.

Easier said than done as the city pulses with frenzied desire, and Riley is confronted with a very powerful and delectably naked vamp who raises her temperature like never before.

In matters carnal, Riley has found her match. But in matters criminal, she must follow her instincts not only to find her brother, but to stop an unholy harvest. For someone is doing some shifty cloning in an attempt to produce the ultimate warrior by tapping into the genome of non-humans like Rhoan.

Now Riley knows just how dangerous the world is for her kind and just how much it needs her.

If you want a chance to win this great novel, all you have to do is to answer this question: Genetic altering and cloning is very much apart of our future. If you could be genetically alter, what would you have changed? What would you have added? Remember, in order to enter, you have to leave a comment.

If you want more chances to win, post about today’s contest on your blog, social network, or anywhere you can. Digg it, stumble it, share it with the world. Wherever you share it, make sure you add a link to it along with your answer.

Since this is the last contest for BBAW, I’ll make this last entry a little easier than the previous ones. For one more chance to win…answer this: Did you check out any other BBAW participants sites? Who did you visit? Amy, at My Friend Amy, did a wonderful job putting it on and she really deserves a pat on the back, so make sure you let her know.

I’ll determine the winner with help from the Research Randomizer.  All entries must be in by 8:00 am EST time on Sept 20th.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I would love to enter the contest:

Genetic altering and cloning is very much apart of our future. If you could be genetically alter, what would you have changed? What would you have added?

I actually wouldn’t want to be genetically altered because I think my foibles and faults are part of who I am, though if I had to choose one thing, it would be not to have that bunion on my toe! Can genetic alteration get rid of that??!!

Did you check out any other BBAW participants sites? Who did you visit?

I’ve visited a ton of BBAW participants and saw my bloglines rise from just about 40 to over 100. Your blog is one of the additions and I’ve been back regularly to read your posts, though I don’t always have time to comment. I’ve also been to the Bermudaonion, Literate Chick, In Bed With Books, and many others.

  2. I’d love to be genetically altered so I could eat whatever I want without gaining weight or clogging my arteries! LOL

I visited a lot of new blogs as a result of BBAW. Yours is one, as well as Bookgasm and Book Binge. Seriously, I’ve subscribed to way too many blogs!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. I wouldn’t mind my legs being 2-3 inches taller and if my vision was 20/20 that would be pretty nice. I would also like to be genetically immune to getting any gray hair!

  4. I would have my nose made smaller and my chest made bigger, along with my hair on my head thicker.
I have discovered many many new blogs this week…how fun!!! “No More Grumpy Bookseller”, “Breaking the Spine”, “Books on the Brain” are just a couple I can name off….
Thank you for all that you have done and I’d love a copy of this book!!
