Escapist Newsletter (Vol. 1 Issue 1)

The title to the seventh Outlander novel has finally been released!! I’m so excited. It will be called An Echo in the Bone. However, there was some bad news. Gabaldon said she’s hoping to have it finished by the end of next year. That means I still have another year and it will be 4 years since the release of A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Oh the agony, but that means I have a whole year to re-read the series and get caught back up.

Janet Evanovich has also announced that new title for the fourteen Stephanie Plum novel. It’s going to be Fearless Fourteen and it will be out in June.

In other author news, I’ve started a new Upcoming Release list. It’s getting to the point where it’s so big, that I’ve put it in an excel spreadsheet. It’ll be easier to maintain and it’ll be easier to find. Speaking of which, four books are coming out a week from Christmas:

  1. Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs (Mercy Thompson #3)
  2. Guilty Pleasures #7 by Laurell K. Hamilton (Anita Blake graphic novel)
  3. Mona Lisa Craving by Sunny (Monere #3)
  4. Night Season by Eileen Wilks (World of the Lupi #4)

There’s nothing new after that until February (which is my birthday, hint hint). Just as a heads up, I’m not sure how the hyperlinking to the book excerpts will work out with this new layout. I’m going to try playing with it, but I’ll try and get it included soon.

I’ve also finalized my To Be Read list for 2008. It has 90 books on it, but my goal is 50 new authors. Of the 90 books, 47 are new authors. That leaves me to find 3 more and I’ll be set for the year. Of course, that means I have to actually read the books and not get caught up in series (which you know I will). If you haven’t thought about joining the Challenge..WHY NOT? It’s good for you to read. Anyway, that’s all the book news for now.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
