Interview: Ethan Sullivan of House Cadogan

Chloe NeillIt’s release day for Chloe Neill and the newest Chicagoland Vampire novel, Blood Games! To celebrate, I cornered the delectable Ethan Sullivan of Cadogan House and convinced him to do a a quick Twitter Chat this past Thursday. Man did we have a blast. There were so many great questions, and he didn’t get a chance to answer them all. So guess what?! I managed to convince him to answer them over the weekend and I would post them today.

While Merit didn’t choose to become a vampire or Sentinel of Cadogan House, she vowed to fight for her House and its Master, and she’s managed to forge strong alliances with powerful supernaturals across Chicago. But even though Merit has had wild adventures, this may be her deadliest yet….

A killer is stalking Chicago, preying on humans and leaving his victims with magical souvenirs. The CPD hasn’t been able to track the assailant, and as the body count rises, the city is running out of options. Vampires and humans aren’t on great terms, but murder makes for strange bedfellows. Can Merit find the killer before she becomes a target?

If you missed the Twitter Chat, don’t worry. You can read it right here, right now. *grin* Make sure you stick around to the end. We’ll be giving away a signed copy of Wild Things.

Interview with Ethan Sullivan, Master of Cadogan House

cadogan houseCan you please describe your idea of a perfect evening?
Anything involving peace and quiet, and preferably my Sentinel. Although where Merit is concerned, there rarely seems to be peace and quiet. ;)

How do you determine who gets added to your house as a novitiate? And how do I apply?
I believe you mean Initiate. ;) Initiates must submit applications to the House, undergo a background check and interview process. Unfortunately, we are not accepting Initiate applications at this time.

Do you have a middle name?
No.

What if you came home & Merit redecorated your suite completely?
Her parents’ home is an architectural disaster, so if she’d inherited their aesthetic, I’d be terrified. But I suspect she hasn’t, and I doubt redecoration is in her particular wheelhouse.

Morgan has been pretty uninvolved in the machinations of Chicago lately. What would you like to see him do to help Chicago?
Morgan is, or so we assume, concerned with the operation of his own House. I cannot fault him for that, although it certainly would be easier if the Chicago Houses presented a united from as vampires. But that is a decision he must come to on his own.

Would you ever open a satellite house in FL?
Amongst all that sunshine? No.

Liege how did you react to Chloe’s advertisment of this event?
I found the photograph distasteful, but as I owe her several favored, it seemed my best interest to participate gratefully. ;)

Are you nervous about becoming a dad?
I don’t take my potential parentage for granted at this point. That said, as I’ve never imagined I’d be a father, yes. The idea is daunting.

How many novitiates are residing in Cadogan House?
Nearly 100.

What do you think is your favorite quality, excluding your looks of course?
I hope that I lead my vampires with fairness and honor.

Do you think the GP is ready to move to the U.S. after being in Europe for so long?
Most certainly not. But what they want is irrelevant. :)

Meet Chloe Neill!

Chloe Neill is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Chicagoland Vampires and Dark Elite series. She was born and raised in the South, but now makes her home in the Midwest–just close enough to Cadogan House and St. Sophia’s to keep an eye on things. When not transcribing Merit’s and Lily’s adventures, she bakes, works, and scours the Internet for good recipes and great graphic design. Chloe also maintains her sanity by spending time with her boys–her favorite landscape photographer/husband and their dogs, Baxter and Scout. (Both she and the photographer understand the dogs are in charge.)

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
