The Dream Cast for Secrets of Lunar Falls

Thanks for hosting me today! I was asked recently if I had a dream cast in mind when I began writing Secrets of Lunar Falls, and the answer is a great big loud “YES!” Dream casting is something that many authors do for their stories. For some authors, this step doesn’t come until after the story is already written, but for me, it’s always one of the very first things I do. I’m a very visual person, so I have to be able to picture it in my mind before I can begin writing about it, and my characters are no exception. Once they introduce themselves to me and I begin to learn their personalities and their quirks, I have to be able to picture them before I can go any further.

One of the ways I like to visualize them and keep track of everyone is to create a private board on Pinterest where I pin images of what I imagine my characters to look like, and I’ll refer to that board often while writing, just to get a good visual in my head for a certain scene. After the book is published, I always make the corresponding Pinterest board public, so readers can see the images that inspired me while the stories were coming to life.
