Hunters Shift

Check out what Rachel Vincent posted today. It’s the blurb for Shift!

TROUBLE IN THE AIR…
Being the first female werecat enforcer isn’t easy. Scars accumulate, but I’m stronger in so many ways.

As for my personal life? It’s complicated. Choices worth making always are. Ever since my brother’s death and my father’s impeachment, it’s all I can do to prevent more blood from spilling. Now our Pride is under attack by a flight of vicious thunderbirds. And making peace with our new enemies may be the only way to get the best of our old foe.

With the body count rising and treachery everywhere, my instincts tell me to look before I leap. But sometimes a leap of faith is the only real option…

io9 has an interesting article, How Sea Monsters Got Into Sense and Sensibility, where author Ben Winters talks about his research and the obstacles he had to overcome in order to give Quirk Books their followup to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

If you have ever wondered what the process was to make a hardcover novel, Suvudu has a video on the publication of Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol.

You seriously need to check out this review of the Twilight Saga if you haven’t already.  Cracked.com has the best review possible.  It is a little spoilerish, but if you’ve read the books, you’ll fall over laughing.  Seriously, it’s that good.  It’s so good, I’ll include a snippet (spoiler warning):

Edward, being a thirteen-year-old girl, thinks Bella has died and goes to Italy to commit suicide. He attempts to do this by exposing himself to the sun at noon in an Italian town. Since sunlight doesn’t actually harm Twilight vampires, one must assume that Edward is hoping some macho Italians will see him in at full sparkle and beat him to death for being gay.

There’s a lot of great lines from this review, so definitely go check it out.

PC Cast has posted the dates for her Tempted tour dates.  Check out her blog for the details.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
