TBR Over Obsessive?

Okay, I have to ask everyone out there…what’s your TBR list like?  I added the fever novels by Karen Marie Moning and I just noticed the count on my list.  It’s a good thing I keep it in Excel, otherwise I would have never realized that there are 413 books on my list.  413 books!  I’m set in books for the next 3 years and that doesn’t take into account the books that get sent to me to review.  Is this bad?  Does anyone else have a TBR like mine?  Or am I the only nut out there?

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Of the 516 books I have listed in my account on LibraryThing, 261 are tagged TBR. So, maybe not 413, but it’s still excessive. The worst part is that I still would go to the book store and buy more if given the opportunity. In fact, I have to go on Tuesday to buy a gift card, and I’m sure I’ll come home with at least 2 or 3 I can’t live without. And I wouldn’t call you a nut. Just an incredibly enthusiastic book acquirer…

  2. I don’t keep a running total but the TBR does run to two bookcases… I don’t think either one of us are in the running for the most out of control TBR pile. ;)

  3. I thought I was the biggest nut for TBR craziness. My actual TBR pile has overflowed throughout my house, I would estimate it being about 300-400 books. My TBR list (which I really need to make a spreadsheet of) is totally out of control, I have books for various series reading on it and any new releases and coming soon books that catch my eye. Sometimes it feels like my TBRs are running my life :)

  4. I’ve got TBR lists on my blog of: books the library has (152) and books the library doesn’t have (97) for a total of 249 books. So mine is not nearly as big as yours. I also end up adding more to it every month, so I am afraid it will never decrease (especially since I follow 43 book blogs in my reader, yours being one of them!).

  5. All the books on my list, they are not necessarily ones I own, but just ones I want to read. I also include all the books on a series, so for instance, I have the entire Fever series by Karen Marie Moning on it now.

  6. I’m afraid to list mine, I just moved & my guest room’s closet is filled with nothing but boxes of books I’ve yet to read. I’m trying to be a good girl & not buy any new books until I’m down to 4 boxes of books.

  7. I think all told my TBR pile is around 300 books but I can’t check the exact number from here (work). While it is not quite as many as you (Probably only because I have seriously limited my book buying until I whittle that number down), it is still getting up there.

  8. I’m at around 600 now I’d say, lol. They’re piled up against every available wall space in both my bedroom and the computer room. I ran out of bookshelf space a long time ago. It’s a problem I can happily live with. :)

On another topic, did I miss the posting of the winner for the Karen Chance book? I can’t find it in your posts.

  9. LOL apparently you’re not the only one, but my TBR list is at 50 and I feel overwhelmed. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to have over 400 :)
