I am excited to welcome author Nancy Gideon as she celebrates the release of her new By Moonlight novel, Unleashed by Shadows.

NGideon-Unleashed by ShadowsHe feared no man, no foe, no obstacle or challenge . . .

Burdened by the weight of his secrets and his father’s sins, the need for redemption pulls Cale Terriot from his duty to his clan and the arms of his new mate into deadly intrigues in a rival territory. His dangerous masquerade in a high-stakes Shifter fight club is about to be exposed to those who would show no mercy – if he can survive in the ring.

How to protect a prince turned king made pawn?

Fearing she’ll lose her soulmate to the darkness he carries inside, Kendra Terriot, newly made queen in the Shape-shifter House of Terriot, must provide him with an heir in order to save his life . . . and his soul. But first she must risk all to coax him back from the edge of violence inherited with his crown.

Can her love tear him from an unbreakable vow that can only end in death?

As part of Nancy’s 5th Annual Haunted Open House, the last By Moonlight novel,  Remembered by Moonlightis only $0.99 at Barnes & Noble | Kobo | All Romance eBooks. Sadly, not at Amazon since they haven’t gotten with the program.

Never Can Say Good-bye

One of the worst things ever is falling in love with a hero and heroine and then, after becoming emotionally invested, when the book is done, putting them away to never to hear from them again. Thankfully, series allow you to revisit them as secondary characters, but it’s never quite the same, is it?  You don’t have that up close and personal time that you long for, that connection that pulls you in, letting you intimately become a part of their lives (in a non-creepy way).

When writing the first book of my “By Moonlight” dark paranormal shape-shifter series, I took an unheard of step in romance (urban fantasy was waaaay ahead of that curve) and refused to say good-bye to my hero and heroine, Max and Cee Cee.  They still had lots of story left to tell and there were readers who wanted to hear it!  Besides, in my enthusiasm, I was already half-way through Book 4 by the time my publisher wanted to go to contract.  Thankfully, my editor loved them as much as I did, and the “By Moonlight” series was born. The first four books followed the same two characters before the series expanded into the “Shadows” books where different heroes and heroines continued on in a more traditional way within the main world.  But readers still wanted another book about my original hero and heroine . . .  So, with my first testing of self-publishing waters, I gave readers what they (and I) wanted. A chance to reunite with them in Remembered by Moonlight.

NGideon-Remembered by MoonlightBut, while writing those “Shadows” books, I found another hero and heroine I didn’t want to relinquish.  Cale and Kendra’s story in Prince of Shadows was far from over.  There was too much left unresolved, both with the past and within their new relationship. I realized that the minute Cale roared into Remembered by Moonlight to settle a dangerous debt and almost took over the book. I was afraid if I didn’t do something, Terriot clan’s new king and queen weren’t going to have their happily-ever-after.

Self-pubbing to the rescue!  You don’t need no stinkin’ rules. Why couldn’t I bring them back to finish their story?

Unleashed by Shadows is one of my favorites out of the 59 books I’ve written. Filled with action, angst, passion, suspense, surprising fun, and, most importantly, closure, it allows two scarred yet desperately in love characters the chance to confront their demons and claim that happiness they’ve both been tragically denied. And it doesn’t hurt that Cale Terriot, my tortured, rowdy, tattooed, rock-and-roll prince now king in the House of Terriot is the hottest thing on hind legs as he enters an underground Shifter fight club in order to save his clan . . . and his damaged soul.

Unleashed by Shadows is now available in all formats, and, as an extra enticement into the “By Moonlight” world, as part of the celebration in my 5th Annual Haunted Open HouseRemembered by Moonlight is only $0.99 (Barnes & Noble | Kobo | All Romance eBooks) through the end of the month.

Step into the “Shadows.” Whether new to the series (this book also stands alone) or a “By Moonlight” fan, you won’t regret it!

Now, about those sexy Terriot brothers . . .

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

I don’t think I can enjoy Silas in the same manner when i re-read his book, which happened to be my 2nd favorite in the series. He has been tainted now:(
