It’s amazing what Tall Dark and Handsome does to any story. Sands’ gives a semi-new twist to the idea of a vampire. Of course, this is in romance setting, so we see more of the complexity of living as a vampire and trying to have a relationship at the same time. Bastien Argeneau is the one everyone goes to when they’re in trouble. He’s even the one trying to find a way for his cousin to drink blood without having to do it the old fashion way. Now enters Terri. She’s flown to the United States from England to help with her best friends wedding, who happens to be marrying Bastien’s brother. As the two get thrown together in helping with wedding plans, they start to throw themselves at each other.
Throughout the story, Sands’ walks around the issue of Bastien’s vampirism as well as Terri’s feelings for the terminally ill and how the two are complete opposites yet can share all the same characteristics. This isn’t your normal paranormal vampire tale, this is the fun kind.
