Hiatus Contest

For the next week, Ian will be gone and I’d like to take advantage of the peace and quiet and work on the new design for Literary Escapism. In order to do this, I’ll be working on a beta site and want to stay focused on development rather than articles. In other words, don’t expect any news this week. I’ll still be keeping my eyes on the news, but will be saving it for a large post at week’s end.

While I’m out, I’ve invited a few bloggers to guest post to keep it lively.  As a way of thanking them for helping me to keep all of you entertained, I’m going to be running a week long contest in cooperation with the other sites.

Here’s the details – each day there will be a new article posted and each post has two ways to get entered.  All you have to do is:

  1. Leave a meaningful comment at the guest posters own site; then, go back to the guest post on LE and leave a meaningful comment.  When you leave a comment, include a link to the post you commented on at the guest posters site.
  2. As always, if you want one more chance to win, you can post about today’s contest on your blog, social network, or anywhere you can. Digg it, stumble it, twit it (#litesc), share it with the world. Wherever you share it, make sure you add a link to it along with your answer (all in the same post please). The more places you share it, the more entries you get.

The idea of this contest is not only to maybe introduce you to someone new, but to help share traffic with my guest posters. It’s my way of thanking the guest bloggers for helping me out. In order to be entered, you have to do both steps.

You will have 5 chances to get your name in the hat as you can enter at each guest post during the week.  Since this is all about showing off these incredible bloggers, you can get one more chance to enter your name when you post about the guest article on your blog, social network, or anywhere you can. Digg it, stumble it, twit it (#litesc), share it with the world. Wherever you share it, make sure you add a link to it along with your comment (all in the same post please). That’ll give you an additional 5 entries if you come back for each article.

Make sure you read this: Since I’m cutting myself off from the live site completely, I won’t be able to read any of the comments during this week.  So that means I’ll (hopefully) have a ton of comments/entries to weed through at the end of the week.  Your link to the guest poster’s site, your meaningful comment and anywhere you shared the article all must be in the same comment.  I’m not going to go back and figure out if you’ve done everything you were suppose to do.  Sound fair?

So now you’re probably wondering what the prize is, right?  I’ve been debating on what to offer, what will give everyone the greatest incentive to be participate.  I thought about giving away a random collection of different novels off of my TBR stack, but then I thought about how much that would cost to mail.  So I’m going with something a little easier and everyone likes – money.  At the end of the week, I’ll compile all those individuals who have left comments at both places, use random.org to randomizing the list 2 or 3 times and then I’ll use Research Randomizer to pick a winner for a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.   Each guest post will give you two different chances to enter the drawing.  The first being the two meaninful contests and the second is simple sharing it with everyone.

So be nice to them while I’m gone and I’ll see everyone when I get back, hopefully with the new design.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
