This is one of those quirky little series that is quick and fun to read. There’s plenty of humor, a vampire that loves designer clothes, and interesting plot twists that are uncomplicated. I’m not really sure if that’s the word I should use, but this series is a lot of fun. It has a distinction between vampires that were born and vampires that were made (aka bitten and turned). The series centers on Lil Marchette, who is a born vampire who is considered the outcast of the family. She refuses to join the family business (Moe’s Copy Center) and begins her own Dead End Dating matchmaking service for the lonely vampires out there. She ends up adding to her clientèle (weres and humans), but along the way, she meets up with a sexy made vampire bounty hunter who she can’t keep off her mind. In each novel, Lil is thrown into various different situations that leave her to figure out what she can do to get her out of it. Some of the problems involve her grandbaby-lusting mother, trying to find dates for the hopeless, and overcoming an attraction to a certain made vampire. If you’re looking for something quick and fun, and you’re a fan of the Betsy Taylor series by MaryJanice Davidson, then you should definitely take a look at these novels.
