She’s a new author for me, but check out the cover for Lisa Mantchev’s Eyes Like Stars.  The artwork is by Jason Chan, who also happens to be a new artist for me.  I am definitely a reader who’ll chose her books by the cover and this one has my attention.  Eyes Like Stars will be available sometime in May 2009.

Jenna Black still doesn’t know what pen name she’ll be writing under for her young adult series, but she does know the name of the first book.  It’ll be called Glimmerglass.  In more Jenna Black news, she’s telling us that the release date for the fourth Kingsley Morgan novel, Speak of the Devil, will be out August 2009.  She also has the cover for Speak of the Devil, but she’s only showing it to newsletter subscribers, so I’m not sure if I can post it yet.

So I saw this over at the Hidden Side of a Leaf and was trying to think of how many books I have bought for Christmas. Usually, not a lot since I’m the bookworm in the family and no one really asks for books. My cousin and I are the biggest bookworms and we’re the ones that are always getting books.  Well, I have bought them for her as well, but she’s really into anime and I’m the only family member who helps her addiction with that, so I normally go that route with her.  Does anyone else end up buying a lot of books at Christmas?  For someone other than themselves?

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
