I’m honestly not sure about The Hunt by Susan Sizemore. There are times when the plot seems forced and other times when Sizemore felt she needed to add something, but couldn’t think of what to add. The story itself was okay. It wasn’t a chore to read it, yet it didn’t pull me in either. I never once felt like I had to continue reading to find out what was going to happen, it was just something to read. Some of the supporting characters were fleshed out better than the three main characters (Selim, Siri, & Valentine), but we were given more information on them in the last 20 pages. Overall, this book wasn’t bad, but it’s not one I would recommend to anyone. Maybe the other novels in the series Laws of the Blood are better, but there really wasn’t anything about this one that is driving me to go out and get any of them.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
