Marked by PC Cast

I just finished Marked by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. It’s more of a teen paranormal romance, much like Glass House by Rachel Caine, but it was done a lot better. You’re told at the beginning that the main character, Zoey, is only sixteen, but her age is really never referenced to again. Even though the story is centered around a boarding school for vampire initiates, I was still captivated enough to keep reading. I actually had trouble putting this novel down. I’m not usually one who likes the teen genre, but this one really worked. The plot was well written and the characters had a lot of personality. The Casts add a new twist to the vampire mythos that could be just as believable as most others. If you like the Morganville Vampire series, then you should make a point of checking out the House of Night series. It’s well worth the read.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
