A Fury & A Prince

Got to hand it to SciFiGuy, he always finds the most interesting novels and something tells me Red Hot Fury by Kasey Mackenzie will be interesting.  After all, it’s not very often a Fury is the main heroine.  Red Hot Fury releases June 29th and Doug has the blurb if the cover intrigues you.

Melissa Marr is putting together a Radiant Shadows roaming ARC review tour, where multiple bloggers get to share one ARC and help promote the book by getting reviews up.  I’m not sure when she’s cutting off people on the tour or if she’s even going to limit the number, so if you want to get on the list, get over there now.

SciFiGuy has his amazing Weekend Report up yet again.

Interviews:

SciFi Wire has put together a list of 10 shows they would love to see prequels to and I have to say, I would definitely watch a few they list.  One of the shows – they want to see the beginning of Sunnydale.  It would be fun to revisit the hellmouth without the slayer.

Galaxy Express has a great link salad for all things Steampunk.  I’m slowly starting to get really intrigued by this new genre and Galaxy Express is totally to blame for that.

Rachel Vincent has posted the first chapter to her upcoming Shifters novel, Shift.  After the events that happened in Pride, Is it wrong I started tearing up?  Warning for those who haven’t read Pride, there is a spoiler contained within.  I can’t wait for this to come out on March 1st.

Dark Faerie Tales has a great feature called Artist Alley where Angela talks to various artists involving their work on book covers, artwork and whatever else that may come up.  The latest edition features Sharon Tancredi, the amazing artist behind Nicole Peeler’s Tempest Rising.

Keri Arthur has posted a snippet from the last Riley Jenson novel, Moon Sworn.  I am going to be so sad to see this series end.  *frowns*  And just like with the Shift snippet, the tears came again.  Either it’s the pregnancy or the major spoiler alert bit that was brought up from Bound to Shadows.  So can’t wait for May.

In more free read news, Carrie Vaughn has posted the first chapter from her upcoming novel, Voices of Dragons.

Fifty-Two Stories has posted the latest short story – Jailbreak by Kevin Sampsell

Jenna Black has added her own snippet for Devil’s Playground at Deadline Dames and I can tell you that it has just made me want March 23rd to roll around all the faster.  I so can’t wait to see what happens between Lugh, Brian and Morgan.

Haitian Relief Charity Auction
For What It’s Worth has come up with a great way of raising money for Doctors Without Borders to help assist their efforts in Haiti.  There are several auctions planned, but the one thing they all have in common is all the prizes will be signed UF/PNR novels from some of our favorite authors.  The first auction up is for three novels from Kelley Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld series – Industrial Magic, Personal Demon and No Humans Involved.

Thanks to Angie Fox (who is one of the contributing authors), I happen to know what the next two auctions will be:

On Monday February 1st – February 7th will be Ilona Andrews – Magic Bites and On The Edge.

Feb 8 – 14 is The Accidental Demon Slayer, The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers, A Tale of Two Demon Slayers and My Zombie Valentine by yours truly

She hasn’t finalized the rest, but the other authors who will be involved are:
Cynthia Eden – Eternal Hunter
Jeaniene Frost – all 4 books from her Night Huntress series
Jeri Smith-Ready – Either Wicked Games or Bad To The Bone
Gena Showalter

This sounds like a great way to get your hands on a couple of great signed copies. So make sure you keep your eye on For What It’s Worth for these upcoming auctions.

Oh yeah, I’m excited.  Check out what releases tomorrow!  I can’t wait to turn on my Kindle and find this book magically appearing.  I’m going to devour it in one day, just watch me.

Her Happy-Ever-After has been a long time coming…

Elle spent years trying to get over her so-called Prince Charming, and she’s finally getting the hang of it. A Grimm—a guardian angel with unique gifts—she spends her nights trolling for demons and kicking ass, and lately, her days have been spent with her on-and-off-again lover, Ren, a fellow Grimm. But fate has other plans in store for Elle, plans that include Michael, the prince from her youth who broke her heart.

“What do you choose…live for her? Or would you rather die?” That was the choice Michael was given all those years ago. Although he knew she’d never forgive him, when Michael was given the chance to become a Grimm, he took it. Still, he isn’t so sure Elle needs him in her life. With a lover at her side and a mission before her, Elle looks like she’s doing just fine without him.

But the not-so-charming prince isn’t going to back off that easily…not if there’s a chance she might need him again. He’d do anything to save her. Kill for her, live for her, die for her…

Warning: This dark, twisted version of Cinderella involves demons, deceit, desire, and debauchery between a princess and two sexy guardian angels, both determined to win the fair Cinderella.

So what do you think?  If this sounds like something you would be interested in, Shiloh is looking for a few good bloggers to help her get the word out and I heard she was giving away a couple of free ecopies of No Prince Charming.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
