LE News

Meaning the stuff exclusive to me. *grin*   First up, did everyone see the League Mini-Challenge for Febraury going on in coordination with the New Author Challenge? The basic details – read/review 3 to 5 League of Reluctant Adult authors in February and get entered for some great prizes. The Leaguers are amazing and have generously added to my prize pool (boy did they), so anyone who participants has the chance to be greatly rewarded. At the moment, we’ll have at least 4 different prize packs planned and right now, there’s not many who have signed up. So the odds are good.  Once I get all the details ironed out, I’ll be posting what great prizes are in store for everyone.

Current contests at LE:

  1. We’re giving away copies of Melina Morel’s Devour, Prey and Smolder. Contest ends Jan 26th.
  2. We’re giving away a copy of Jennifer Estep’s Spider’s Bite. Contest ends Jan 28th.

Upcoming authors:

  1. Terry Spear will be here on Tuesday and we have two copies of her upcoming novel, Legend of the White Wolf. You can see Karyl’s review of it here.
  2. Nalini Singh will be here on Thursday, getting ready to celebrate the release of her second Guild Hunter novel, Archangels’ Kiss.

Sense and Sensibilities and Sea Monsters
Literary Escapism had the talented Ben H Winters here a week or so ago and while he was here, we gave away copies of Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters as well as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Deluxe Edition and it’s time to pick a winner.  In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: Queen Victoria, Lincoln, Pride & Prejudice, Tom Sawyer – all of these have been introduced to the paranormal, but what else would you like to see? Which classic or historical figure would you like to see get revamped? The winning response belongs to…

RAQUEL VG who said: I would like to see Phantom of the Opera or Les Misérables revampred. Alice in Wonderland would be kinda kool with supernatural beings in it. Also I love Gone With the Wind so I would love to see that get some sort of revamp.

Congrats Raquel! Please contact me at myjaxon AT gmail with your snail mail info and I’ll get your prize in the mail.

Random Bit of News
I mentioned this on Facebook and Twitter this past week, but I’ll say so now…Literary Escapism may possibly experience a few hiccups in the next couple of months and a small hiatus in August.  The hubby and I had visual proof that I am indeed spawning again and monkey2 will be joining us then.  The hiatus may not last long since Ian will be starting school in September, but this is just an FYI (plus I’m kind of excited and wanted to share the news).  *grin*  However, until then, chasing after a 3yr old is already exhausting me and I don’t know how the next 30 weeks will go, so there may be times where posting is sporadic.

Alright, I think that is all the LE centric news I have at the moment.  I feel like I’m missing something, so if I am, let me know.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
